THE DH PART 2 MOVIE... THE MOST AMAZING MOVIE IN THIS UNIVERSE...

Other issues:
-ollivander isn't supposed to know anything about the hallows. I imagine the writers had him explian them as a recap for what they were, but still, it was a bit annoying
-Harry telling Hermione and Ron that he was turning himself in to Voldemort, that was very out of character. Plus, he never tells neville about nagini. I hate the way they reworked killing her. They totally botched nevilles moment
-Snape death scene. The change in location was totally pointless. the scene was exactly the same except instead of putting it in the shrieking shack like it's supposed to be, they put it in this random building that doesn't even exist on hogwarts. It doesn't make sense. I think they should have just left it alone. the shrieking shack has so much history, especially for snape. He should have died there.
-the ron/hermione kiss was a real let-down. it felt like it was rupert and emma kissing, rather than ron and hermione. it was alright and definately funny, but i really loved the scene in the book and i love that harry was there and his reaction is just amazing.
-the epilouge. for one, malfoy just looks dumb. the others i thought looked really great, but no matter how realistic they all look, the scene is still going to be funny because the fans all know that they're fake-aged. I think they should have played up on the comedy of the scene (*cough cough* maybe the way Jo wrote it...). we missed so much there: all the Ron-ness nonsense and jokes, Ron and Hermione bickering like absolutely nothing has changed in 20 years, the gang's rivalry with Malfoy, and insight into harry's family life. all cut. I was really disappointed by that
-we never heard anything about percy (the estrangement and then the reunion before the battle) we never see him fighting along-side fred and then his reaction to his death, which i missed. but having said that, the reaction by the family (namly george and ron) was done really well
-we never got the full background story on dumbledore
-someone already said it, but harry not repairing his wand. i almost tore my hair out. i think we can assume that he did it before hand, because he cant not have a wand. but really it would have taken like five seconds to take out the pieces of his wand, repair them, and THEN snap the wand
-lupin never made the announcement about teddy or made harry godfather. while we do find out he has a son, its kind of just thrown in there
Ok enough complaining. the battle was epic. and for the most part, i was really happy with it. it was fitting to see hogwarts destroyed so thoroughly
-i really liked the developments in harry and ginny'd relationship. I will be the first to say that ginny has always felt like a background character and that their relationship never really developed. in this movie, they only had a couple moments together, but in them, i really felt like they loved each other.
-the small bits of comedy, enough to make us feel connected but not enough to take over the movie...specifically the reference to seamus blowing things up :)
-snapes memories were wonderful...absoultely wonderful and i really liked the scenes from past movies that were sprinkled in. it felt like the end, it the best way.
-the last scene before the epilouge, of the 3 standing there and then the 3 again at the end of the epilouge...it had a great effect.
Overall i am happy with this movie (although it may not seem like it...). I really want to see it again.

I think my biggest complaint about both parts of DH as a whole is the exclusion of the whole Dumbledore story (including his obsession with the Hallows), and the reduced emphasis on Harry's relationship with Dumbledore (his own temporary obsession with the Hallows, the effect of Dobby's death, his doubts over trusting etc.) I know none of this is cut entirely, but it still feels to me as though the most emotionally powerful aspect of the story is missing.
I agree with you about how it's annoying that Lupin's son is mentioned for the first time in the Resurrection Stone scene. I wish Lupin or Tonks could have mentioned it in DH1. Tonks starts to, I think, but Moody cuts her off.
I also feel the same way about the Ron/Hermione kiss. I've never felt that Harry had to be present, and I've always liked the idea of it taking place in the CoS, but after seeing it, I think the moment in the book is so much more powerful.
The scene where Harry tells Ron and Hermione that he has to sacrifice himself is well done, in my opinion, though it is out of character for book Harry. Considering that we don't get to hear Harry's internal monologue in the movie, I think the scene works in context. I only wish that Ron could have hugged Harry too or could have said: "We'll go with you."
I don't mind at all about Ollivander's recap of the Hallows. I think it's a great scene even though it's different from the book. Same goes for Snape's death. I don't feel that the Shrieking Shack is particularly significant in the movies - or at least it's not significant enough to go to the trouble of having the trio go through the Whomping Willow.
I have complaints about the movie that I went on about in another topic, but I really like the movie too. I think it’s impossible for me to not like a HP movie. :)
all the deaths were heartbreaking...but i think the most heartbreaking part was Snape's Memories.

That scene, or compilement of scenes, is probably one of my favorites ever. It was so well done.

yeah :(
yeah, it's probably the best part of the movie, but still really sad.

I almost went twice! But the second time, I could go last-minute cause I got an eye infection that morning that didn't let me wear contacts and made me wear sunglasses so I could have my eyes open. I decided wearing glasses+sunglasses+3D glasses would be awkward, plus it'd look strange...
haha it's ok. Once is enough in theatres, I just never saw it in 3D...
Ooh that had the HP glasses? They only did at midnight for us! Well, for the 3D theatres...we went to our suburb's theatre. Nice and empty with cheap stuff =D
Same...where I went they don't offer 3D.

I actually can not believe its been nearly 4 months since the movie! Time flies seriously! Can't wait till the dvd comes out because there are specualtions that in the director's cut version, where there's all the scenes, even the ones that weren't cut by the editors, there will be some of the scenes that we potterheads were enraged at not seeing.
Well here's hoping!!! :)

There's a nice Lupin/Tonks moment.

And is anyone else waiting to get the boxed set? I really want to get it, with all the deleted scenes and extra stuff over the years and maybe some extra stuff as well, like the 50 greatest moments of harry potter vid, i loved that. Or somesort of *through the years* video made by warned bros.
dyu reckon they'll sell that in Australia? :/
im most likely not getting the box set since I have all movies at home. PLUS, Happy HAlloween everyone! :z)

She's really emotional when it comes to harry potter.
I was kinda...spooked when Snape started crying. Cause...he like...NEVER does anything but stare straight ahead and get mad
IT WAS THE BEST RIGHTT?
heheheh :)
Ok well lets start from the start -
Saddest
- When Fred dies and you see Lupin and Tonks lying dead on the floor. That was so bloody emotional I was shaking. And ron and george crying really sunk it into me, coz ive never seen either of them like that before. wow.
- When Snape is hugging lilly in the memory. That was such a great addition I thought that bit was amazing!
- When Ginny runs at Voldemort and yells NOOOOO when she sees Harry dead. But 2 secs later I was cracking up at Voldemorts laugh!
Most spine-tingling
- When all the Hogwarts-ians are staring up at the sky and holding hands etc.
- When McGonagall bewitches the armour with Locomotor something, and then Molly, Flitwick and Slughorn are casting PROTEGO MAXIMA etc at the sky. That bit was my favourite because it was so tense and amazing. SO SUSPENSFUL!
Funniest
- Voldemort's laugh - YEH HEH HEHHHH. FRIKKIN HILARIOuS! And the way he say AVADA KEDAVRA.
- All ron's One Liners! Lol ILY RON. Eg. Ginny sees him and Harry for the first time in 6 months. "HARRY!" Ron -" You'd think I was invisible."
and "Goyle's set the bloody place on fire AHHHHHHH."
- Neville on the bridge - "COME AT ME! YEH THATS RIGHT! YOU AND WHO'S ARMY?"
- Ron and Hermione's kiss was HILARIOUS!
- Voldy's hug. There's this FB group - Going to the dark side just to get a hug frm Voldemort.
LOOOOL!
- When Harry appears in the great hall and is like "Snape I think you have security issues."
- Seamus and Harry in the room of requirement - "You have NOTHING to go on." LAWLLL!!!
- Voldy and death eater at a random moment -
Death eater: "m-m-M'lord?"
Voldy: "AVADA KEDAVRA!"
Scariest
- Fenrir eating Lavendar: yeeesh that was gross.
- The freaky bit where the Grey Lady gets REALLY pissed off and makes that scary face lol.
- When you think Hermione and Ron are going to die. Ok maybe thats less scary and more just really cute coz he protects her!
------------------------------------------------------
Oh p.s Neville did say he loved Luna! I was like high so i didnt hear it properly, but didnt he say - "Has anyone seen Luna? I LOVE HER and its about time I told her!!!."
Well I actually LOVE that coz I was wishing so badly for that in the book and then it happened I was like AHHHHHHHHHH my dream come true!!!
The only thing that I was so surprised and a tad annoyed about, (and it was what I was talking about before when I said they left ne thing out) was that HARRY DIDNT FIX HIS WAND!!!
Can u belive it!!!???? D:
And also i reckon the end shoulda been happier and them celebrating and stuff but it was still the most amazing spectacular movie I have seen in my entire 15 yrs of exhistence!
:)
:O)
YEH HEH HEHHH :)
x
(wow i REALLY didnt bottle it up lol)
