oh wow, yes i did love ron and hermione's kiss. I enjoyed Nevilles scene where all the death eaters chased after him. That was pretty awesome but my favorite comedy part was the when Harry, Ron, and Hermione come in from Hogsmeade and it goes like this:

"We need to find something"
"What is it?"
"We don't know"
"Where is it?"
"We don't know that either ... we don't have a lot to go on"
"That's nothing to go on."

YAH, THAT WAS HILARIOUS!

Best movie ever! It was soo sad =( but there was an even amount of funny parts. Instead of crying I just went into denial though. My sister says so at least. Because I won't believe that Dobby, Hedwig, Fred, or Snape are dead. But Molly Weasley =) I love her! Revenge. It's awesome, isn't it. Dobby and Sirius have been avenged.

haha. This is just my opinion but if I start to see the movie again and again then I start to analyze it and pick out parts that are different and parts that could have been better and I stop feeling the amazement as much.

Pandy | 637 comments I think the movie is great, but I'm too lazy to go into more detail about what I think, since I just posted a comment about it in another group.

Here's the same comment just copied and pasted:

I went to the midnight showing, but I need to see it again before I can really decide what I think of it. Needless to say, I love the movie, but I say that about all the HP movies, even my least favorite (GoF). I think the chilling atmosphere of DH2 is perfect and the visuals are stunning. The whole film seems as though it's over in a flash, which is probably a good thing, considering that it is supposed to be the action-packed finale. Still some of the scenes (especially Gringotts and the Chamber of Secrets) don't make for as immersive a viewing experience as many of the scenes in DH1 (The Ministry, Godric's Hollow etc.). I'm not going to bother complaining about things that were cut - Dumbledore's full back story/relation to the Hallows, the reasoning behind Harry's decision to talk to Griphook first - since Harry's doubts about Dumbledore and the effect of Dobby's death on his decisions aren't emphasized in DH1 in the first place. This takes away from both movies. The talk with Aberforth and the King’s Cross scene could have been extended…but anyway, I wasn't going to complain. :) Lily's blood protection as an explanation of why Harry survives in the forest would have been nice, though. The final battle between Harry and Voldemort, despite being extended, still ends up feeling a bit anti-climatic. I need to see it again.

Things I love about DH2 in no particular order:
* "Lily's Theme" opening the film: beautiful and haunting.
* Helena Bonham Carter as Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix
* The Dragon breaking out of Gringotts with "Dragon Flight" from the soundtrack playing
* Snape's speech in the Great Hall; Alan Rickman is as brilliant as always
* Every bit with Maggie Smith's McGonagall
* Filch's "Students out of bed line!"
* The dome of protective enchantments being cast over Hogwarts
* Snape's death (Harry holding his hand out to staunch Snape's wound is so sad!)
* Dumbledore and Snape in "The Prince's Tale" (I like the whole sequence and how it's mixed in with shots from previous films. Because I love Snape’s character so much, I would have loved to see many of the scenes play out completely with the full “Snape’s Worst Memory”, but I understand that this would have probably hurt the pacing of the film.)
* Dumbledore’s line from the book: “'Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?'
* The Malfoys beckoning to Draco to cross over onto their side and their escape across the bridge. I've always loved Jason Isaacs's Lucius.
* "Leaving Hogwarts" playing during the epilogue!

Things I find annoying:
* The spinning camera after the trio climbs out of the lake makes me dizzy. Though this is probably because I watched this after being sleep deprived (reading A Dance with Dragons) for a couple of days.
* All of the Slytherins being sent to the dungeons
* Voldemort and Bellatrix disintegrating – like many, I would have preferred to see the bodies.
* Voldemort/Harry cliff jump still looks weird and unnecessary. I'm not so sure what to say about the Voldemort/Draco hug other than that it's disturbing.
* Harry not fixing his wand (this seems to be a popular complaint).

DH2 is not my favorite HP movie to watch. But that’s not a reflection of the quality of the movie. It’s just that I usually prefer dialogue to action. I’m still not sure how I’d rate DH2 compared to the other HP films. Combined with DH1, I’d still put it behind HBP, PoA, and OotP I think.

I don't have too much time to respond to that cuz I'mjust lazy but here are some:

Yeah I found the Voldemort/Harry and Voldemort/Draco weird too.

The 2 complaints I have is that Nagini wasn't already killed and the fact that Voldemort died infront of Harry alone, I would have preferred him to be killed infront of everyone.

I agree about voldemort disinegrating but I think the molly/bellatrix scene was perfect.

Yeah1 I just foun that extremely annoying. I really wish it had been in front of everyone. I think snape was portrayed perfectly as well as hermione and ron. I also liked bellatrix as hermione, it was convincing.

message 147: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, I would have loved it if Voldemort died in front of everyone. I would have loved a huge cheer of all the characters, once they see him die.

I was also upset about the credits. They where so...plain. I thought with each actor's name, they would show a picture of them in the first movie, and then the last. They would only be able to do that with main characters, though....

message 148: by Pandy (new)

Pandy | 637 comments I like that they used John William's music first with the credits, but something like the Return of the King's credits would have been nice. PoA's credits are my favorite.

Also dean thomas, seamus finnigan, neville longbottom, luna lovegood, and a lot of the other students.I thought the credits would be fun to watch to I guess. :)

Yeah, like you, I am a huge fan of Harry Potter music. I loved the whole soundtrack to PoA, and recently purchased the song, "Buckbeak's Flight."

Speaking of Buckbeak, it never showed him in the battle of hogwarts. Because in the book it did mention him fighting with the threstals. (sp?)
