I'm trying to remember if I read that in school its been a while since I was there LOL but I cant remember
The movie Apocolypse Now was based off of it. It had 7 pages describing how dark the jungle was, I read two and threw the book down and cliff noted the rest.

I have a real hard time with Jane Austen novels I cant seem to get into the story, I'm always standing on the outside and I feel like I'm missing something
Kristen wrote: "They are hard.. note using the cliffnotes. I just get confused with who is who."yes it sounds like they are talking about the same people at the same time it is very confusing LOL
My library is pretty well stocked with books but since last night, I've been combing the Internet for Poison Study on CD's and NO ONE HAS THEM! I even checked E-bay...nada, zilch. The only way I can listen to them is to download them off the Internet and I've never trusted those things. But I REALLY want to listen to it. I've listened to an excerpt. Luckily, I've read the series (obviously) but listening to it is a good way for me to concentrate when I'm doing my work (strange, I know. But there's my weirdness for ya.) Would anyone happen to have CD's and be willing to sell? *eager looks around*

*sigh* Ah well. Thanks! If you do see them, PLEASE let me know! The narrator does the voices and accents and stuff. Pretty nifty! It would be fun, just for kicks, if a bunch of people got together to read the Study books out loud. Home made narration! I don't know what type of copyrights would be needed but that would be a fun project!

yes it would but I don't think any of us are close enough to each other to be able to do that LOL
In my high school class, the AP English Lit class that I am taking right now (of the three available) is very empty, in that we have only read three epic poems since September. :( I expected to read a broader range of books and sorts, but we only read weird poems that somehow connect to the epic poems...ok, sorry for being all whiney but...
but with every loss there is a gain. Living in the NYC, the city branch has several copies of each book and, even better so, many readers who reserve the book. I took me two months to get Fire Study (which I am enjoying a hell lot now).
So yeah, there are many copies of the book in the city, but that might be because of the location.
My library has all the study books, plus Storm Glass on pre-order. That makes me very happy since I'm first in line for it. :-)

Yay! Yes, I've let the library project lapse for a while (I think in summer I will focus on it a bit more fully) but I still love hearing from you guys on who has it in their public library. I may be a bookstore girl, but I love the idea of free access to books for everyone!

Mine has them all too... I'm number 66 on the list for Storm Glass though. :(Actually the library's "Reader's Choice" program was how I got into the series to begin with. Poison Study won the fall round in 2006.
Hi everyone,I'm new here :) My library does have the Study books, but they have not ordered Storm Glass as of yet. I have asked them to, but I'm not sure that they will. I'm going to Borders today to buy it because I can't possibly wait for the library to get it in. I read the first 3 books from the library, but then I bought them because I loved them so much.
Actually it's so funny how I found the study books to begin with. I was working in the library and helping a patron find some books that just happen to be in the same aisle as the study books. They caught my eye, and I thought they sounded interesting so I checked them out. For Storm Glass, I was able to put the request in for the book to be pre-order. Sometimes it's great to be a librarian! :D

Hey Tracy! Welcome to Study Buddies! I understand your need to buy Storm Glass instead of waiting. I don't think I could have waited for it, either.
Mic- ha! That is funny. Btw- i love your profile pic! Did you take it yourself? If so, where were you?
Rachel wrote: "Mic- ha! That is funny. Btw- i love your profile pic! Did you take it yourself? If so, where were you?"Actually I found that through Google images search. I love wild dogs (wolves, foxes, coyotes) and this pic was too cute! I was looking for a reference picture for a story I'm trying to write when I came across this little guy. :-)
Rachel wrote: "Mic-Aww! It's really nice! Just a bit curious- what's your story about? ;)"It's inspired by Miyazaki's films (think Spirited Away) and how the human world and the spirit world interact. It's still in its infancy so I can't really describe it too well. :-)
My library branch is tiny, so probably 90% of the books I take out are transferred from other branches. They don't have any of the Study books in right now, but my county has multiple copies of all of them, and Sea Glass has a 13 person wait list right now. It's a nice surprise, because my library system is really spotty when it comes to fantasy. They've recently added a "suggest books for us to buy" feature to their website, so I'm definitely going to start making use of that.
Our library hardly has anything. I pay a lot of transfer fees (.25 per transfer), but it's not bad. I did, however, just buy a membership to the library in the next city over. It only takes 5 minutes to drive there, and they always have tons of everything you need. I paid $25 for the year. Hopefully it will be worth it like my friends have said. I imagine Ben Franklin did a little flip in his grave when I PURCHASED a library card.
I thought that the first library that Ben Franklin started was a subscription library, because (if I'm remembering right) the members were pooling their money to so they could all have access to more expensive-to-import books from England.I've been thinking about paying to join one of those city libraries that will let you check out e-books online, but the last time I looked into it they weren't very Kindle friendly. :(
Hi everyone, I'm new here. My library only had Magic Study and Storm Glass, but the other libraries in the system had the rest of the Study series so I was still able to read it. No Sea Glass on pre-order yet though...
My Library which consists of 6 different branches only has one copy of Poison Study, Magic Study and Fire Study between them. They don't have Storm Glass or Sea Glass. It really sucks when I feel like reading them again because they are always out!
I put in a request for them to order Sea Glass and they did right away! You should try putting in a purchase request.
Good Idea! But I'll wait until after Christmas incase I get one as a gift.
The Monroe (Michigan) County Library System of 16 libraries has multiple copies of all MVS books. Most likely thanks to the staff (of whom I'm one) constantly recommending them to patrons and new hires! I love the idea of reading the books!

Yeah, that's why I didn't get the Kindle--I got so many of my books (not new ones, but classics and obscure oldies) as free epubs (http://www.epubbooks.com), so I knew the Sony Reader was the right choice for me.
I haven't signed up for digital downloads yet--need to head over to Eagle Rock's branch of LA Public Library, but as far as I know the ebook service here is free! Included with your patron card, just for being a resident. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow.
