To NAB or not to NAB?
date
newest »

Specific examples with links? It's hard to tell from your description whether these are legitimate "box sets" or the kind of multi-book packs that appropriately should be NABbed, or the more recent imports of used items from Amazon with ASINs due to a software flaw.

Susan - If the books are in box sets or something with an ISBN (or alt cover edition), do not NAB them.
If they are multi-book sets with an ASIN, we've determined those are from 3rd party sellers of used books through Amazon, so go ahead and NAB those.

Actually, now that the backdoor they were sneaking in through is patched, it's far better to delete them. (Combine with their closest match first if anyone has shelved them.)

Correct. The patch didn't take care of any of the existing books; it just keeps new ones from trickling in.
A script was run to delete the existing books, but it only deleted those that either had not been shelved at all, or which were combined with other editions.

Who makes the decision whether something is a book or not? I certainly bought it as a reference book to keep, and it comes with an ISBN, so why isn't it a book? Am I missing something?

The manual agrees with you I'd say. Not sure why it got NAB'ed.
But it's not the only one where people have trouble telling the diff:

Can someone reverse the NAB then?
Whether tis nobler in the mind to suffer

Who are offended by NABing with which they disagree;
And by opposi..."
Love this!!!!! Mwahahahaha!!!
