From the tales she tells of the awful teachers she has to deal with she'd probably jump at you. She's had a teacher put kids photo's on Facebook complete with names!! (and that's the least of it)

But sadly she has negative budget and she's off on long term sick at the moment anyway :(

oh I did worse than this! I used to be a Special Constable. One morning, after a night shift in my normal job, I was stood at the bus station whilst talking on the mobile sorting out a work problem and some kids were throwing Lucozade all over the place. I was so tired I forgot what "role" I was in and shouted "Oy!!" Then followed the scariest minutes of my life as I had to face up to 3 slathering, foul mouthed vicious yobs while everyone else looked on or looked away. Won't be doing that again.....

Shelley (shelleylea) | 30 comments It must be something about our jobs Helen. I am a nurse, and we nurses (probably like teachers) do like order!
Good memories of buses come when I remember reading my first Terry Pratchett (given to me by a patient). I couldn't stop laughing - needless to say, had the seat all to myself... lol

Do you find family and friends constantly showing you parts of their anatomy, or offering your help to total strangers.
Only ever had to stop for two accidents, one was a young girl who came off her moped, bit shaken but wasn't going to leave her til the police turned up. The other was a woman who slipped down a curb and broken her leg, kept having to prevent a first aider from moving her as the fracture was unstable. Eventually had to admit that I was a nurse, the fracture was unstable and the woman was my mother.
Still think she was trying to get out of buying my birthday present.

Oh Deanne! what a cynic you are!!! But I am lucky, haven't had to stop for accidents. Another good reason for reason books on buses ...lol ...I'm pretty good at blagging info when I am asked about really bizarre symptoms. I'm usually told about people's experiences in hospital and have been shown a lot of scars. Not terribly relevent to me as I am a nurse in custody. Did you not get your mum a wheelchair? best way for getting round the shops cos she could carry all your bags too......

Got Mum a plate and some screws, doesn't set off metal detectors though. She also got some nifty crutches and had to retire early, but that was 15 years ago.
Took for a walk around Bradgate park today, and even bought her a coffee.
The most interesting scar i saw was a guy who'd been bitten by a bear, apparantly a revenge attack after it peed on his electric fence.

Helen | 3465 comments Wow, that's a pretty good thing to have a scar from though!

Shelley (shelleylea) | 30 comments Deanne, I am glad to hear you are taking care of your mum. Exercise and watering, eh?
It would have been exciting if she could set off metal detectors though.....
The bear bite is hilarious!!! Obviously not for the chap who was bitten....

Vicky (thesevagabondshoes) | 93 comments I like to theme my holiday reading to fit in with the places that I visit, and try to pick up books (if I can find them in English). I too The Piano with me to New Zealand, and picked up The Bone People and Whale Rider while I was out there. I took The Shadow of the Sun to Malawi, Soldiers of Light to West Africa and The Mosquito Coas to Belize. Just recently I visited Barcelona with The Shadow of the Wind and the west coast of Scotland with Island Years.

Adrienne | 226 comments I read The Wind from the East: A Novel in Spain, i found being in the 'right location' added to the ambiance of the book.
