Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments One of my favorites:

"You're in America now," I said. "Our idea of diplomacy is showing up with a gun in one hand and a sandwich in the other and asking which you'd prefer."

message 152: by [deleted user] (new)

gun please.

I could use it to get more sandwiches.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments I'm not sure you're getting the implication here....

message 154: by [deleted user] (new)

I just choose to understand it differently.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments Happily...we were just discussing, not negotiating.

"Life is a journey. Time is a river. The door is ajar."

carol. | 2616 comments Ala beats to the march of his own drummer-- you should know that by now, Sensei.

message 157: by [deleted user] (new)

It's not even a drummer.

It's a monkey with a triangle.

Stupid monkey.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments Give him a xylophone....or a euphonium.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments yeeeee I hate that thing. It shows up in horror flicks for a reason. I always wondered about parents who gave that and things like it to their kids.

Probably accounts for a lot of missing children...and also a lot of serial killer development.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments Ya...she went on to, "I'm Talky Tina and I'm going to kill you."

Dolls can be scary.

message 161: by carol. , Senor Crabbypants (new)

carol. | 2616 comments There's a doll that keeps showing up in True Blood--nothing has happened yet, but I just saw an article about it and how "dolls are never a good thing in movies." lol. They ARE scary.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments Don't have HBO in my "package" so i don't watch True Blood... not into the books much, my daughter likes them though.

That aside, ya hate dolls.

btw, you know that Beyond the Sea song? I know it from those damned cruise line commercials(and Nemo, cuz, duuuuude).

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments Uhhhhhhh.....Tracey were there 2 songs in the episode about the Peacock family????? The one that jumps out is Wonderful Wonderful by Johnny Mathis. I know because it sort of ruined the song for my daughter and I like Johnny Mathis...

Philip Athans (philathans) You own a copy of the first printing of the AD&D Deities & Demigods book with the Cthulhu and Melnibonéan mythoi.

I still have mine!

Actually, you're a total nerd if you even have the slightest clue what I'm taking about.

message 170: by Scott (new)

Scott I've got that somewhere. I believe it's worth something now!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments I still have my first and second edition D&D books(all of them) including Oriental Adventures...and I still run a second edition game.

Don't forget the Battle of Evermore by Zeppelin. The line, "the ring-wraiths ride in black" gets me every time.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments You might be nerd if...every time you hear the word "inconceivable" you have the urge to say "I do not think that word means what you think it means", in a questionable Spanish accent.

Laurel Grant, you know I love to see you work. But I have a kingdom to run, a wedding to plan, a bride to murder, and Gilda to frame for it. I'm swamped!

The Pirate Ghost (Formerly known as the Curmudgeon) (pirateghost) Wow... that's amazing.... blink angel... and the chick from Firefly? very cool. Yes, you qualify as a nerd but a very cool and talented one.

I can't even make a paper-machete light bulb.

message 186: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) That was most definitely not my handiwork. I can barely draw recognizable stick figures, so that's wayyyyyy beyond my skill level. I just stumbled on the site, and thought it should be shared here... where it will be appreciated... ;)

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) ... wearing dress clothes and trainers makes you think fondly of the Tenth Doctor.

So just read this :)

Will you marry me, Laurel :) Well, like a year after my divorce is final? :D

message 190: by Laurel (new)

Laurel But I've only read the first Monster Hunter International book. Shouldn't your dream girl have read all three?

message 191: by Laurel (new)

Laurel Thinking on it, "as you wish" might have been the wittier response ;)

message 192: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol agreed ;)

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 5387 comments I do not mean to pry, but "do either of you" by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?

message 194: by whimsicalmeerkat (new)

colleen the convivial curmudgeon (blackrose13) Denae - watching hubby play WoW with his guild puts me instantly to sleep. :>

Can't do it when he's playing WoW because I want to be playing WoW or I want to know how the guild's doing so I start watching it. Which reminds me.

You might be a nerd if you met your boyfriend through a WoW guild.

Hey, my best friend met her fiance through both of them playing Final Fantasy 11 online, they started talking and doing quests together, and eventually met up and that was that. I don't knock it :)
