Janice (jamasc) I'm joining in on the happy dance. :) Good job.

message 102: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Stay strong, Amber! well done!

message 103: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Friday! will it be easier to stay on track at home over the weekend or is it easier at work?

Amber, if you cheat and have one or two it will strengthen your resolve because you will feel so sick and sad that it won't even be worth it and you'll be back on the healthy wagon in no time.

message 105: by [deleted user] (new)

We are still with you Amber.

message 106: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yes we are.

message 107: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Amber, how is the weekend going?!

She's wrong. I swear, if you smoke one cigarette I am going to fucking tantrum all over your fucking front lawn. Don't do it, Amber. Don't do it.

message 109: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I will. I will drink, like, four gallons of water, then run back and forth, pissing like that goddamn Belgian statue, all over your bushes.

message 110: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) ra, while playing the harp?

message 111: by RandomAnthony (last edited Jul 17, 2011 06:46PM) (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments No, I need both hands for aim.

message 112: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) You might want to paint your body a bronze colour so that if the police drive by you can freeze in place and act like a statue.

message 113: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Excellent image, Janice.

Here's RA peeing now in fact.

message 115: by Brittomart (new)

Brittomart Got a butt itch, RA?

message 116: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) and scratching! wash your hands, please!

message 117: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) Where's his harp?

message 118: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
He can't play the harp, as well as pee and scratch his butt.

Maybe he can get one of those harmonicas that attach to your neck.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Amber, please do not smoke so ra won't do that.

message 120: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Sorry guys, I haven't checked in for a while. I did have a bad lapse on Friday- we had a big financial set back, I freaked out and smoked. But I am back on track since Saturday. Now I just have to keep an eye out for a naked bronze guy on my lawn. And I live in a townhouse, so the neighbors will be thrilled.

And in response to ms. petra: it is usually WAY easier at home, because there are a million things I can do instead. I hate my job, so work makes me want to smoke constantly.

message 121: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments If keeping RA from peeing on your bushes won't keep you from smoking not sure what will, but we will be here for you no matter what.

message 122: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Amber, it not about if you fall but if you get back up. If you haven't smoked since Sat, then it is day 3. Watch out for that naked bronze guy. :)

message 123: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments starts drinking prodigious amounts of water

Is there a chance that you will be looking for a new job in the future? Life is too short to work at a job you hate.

message 125: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments I am looking for one right now. I have put in 7 or 8 applications in the last few days. Getting out of here would be one huge step forward for a lot of things, including being able to finally stop smoking.

Brush your teeth. Drink some nice tea. Do some yoga (at least stand up and let your head fall between your knees to relax and oxygenate your brain) and DO NOT step outside. Instead, pop your knuckles, brush your hair, post here, and have a laugh.

And if all of that doesn't work, there's always the bottle.

Or sex.

Can you have a mail room affair, Amber?

message 130: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

 ~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments 1. We don't have a mail room.
2. I wouldn't touch anyone in this office with a 10 foot pole. Although I would like to hit them with the 50-page hole punch.
3. Probably should have been 1, but I'm (happily)married.
Sex is a fantastic substitute, but that's one of the reasons why smoking at home is less of an issue than at work.

We need something that will make Not Smoking at Work just as enjoyable as Sex at Home, then.

message 132: by Brittomart (last edited Jul 21, 2011 07:21AM) (new)

Brittomart Something to cheer up Amber: Ever since you said a lot of people say you look like Emily Blunt, I read your posts with a British accent in my head.

message 133: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Amber, how is it going? My sister has 50 days smoke free. I think she might really do it this time.

message 134: by ~Geektastic~ (last edited Jul 21, 2011 07:24AM) (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Still haven't quite kept up the streak enough to call it really quitting. I need to find a better way to deal with stress, I think that's my achilles heel when it comes to smoking. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with my updates, I was hoping to have better news but family stuff has been stressing me out, so I haven't kicked it yet.

That's really great for your sister, though!

message 135: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Just make sure that you don't lose track of your goal of quitting smoking Amber. Remember we are here.

message 136: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) Here's a little tubthumping for you to help you get back up again.

message 137: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
Yes, Amber. Quit once and for all. You've been paring down and dancing around this, but it will be rough for a while. If not work something else will happen to make you wish you still smoked, but everytime you overcome an obstacle like that you will be stronger. I promise.

message 138: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) What Sally said. Amber.

message 139: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

What Sally said and Larry echoed.

message 140: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Except I wouldn't say everytime.

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments You're getting there, girl!! The stressful times are the absolute worst, but I know you'll figure out what works best to get your through them smoke-free.

message 142: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Next time you take one from the pack, look straight at it, crumple it tightly in your hand and drop the remains on the ground, saying directly to it, "fuck you, stupid motherfucker."

What's it going to take, Amber? I swear, I will spit on my hands and run my palms all over your steering wheel.

message 144: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments And then you'll sniff your finger?

message 145: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Then I will drop my pants and rub my butt on the driver's seat.

message 146: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Now that's just ....

message 147: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Won't the bronze bodypaint rub off on the upholstery?

message 148: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments You better hope that stain is bronze bodypaint.

message 149: by Jonathan (last edited Jul 23, 2011 05:29PM) (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Amber, I think you should definitively quit the cigarettes. RA sounds like he means business.

message 150: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Quit now, Amber. Save yourself.
