Very interesting theory. I can see some argument for Lysanna being Jon's true mother but all the Targaryen's are described as having silver hair. It must be something big though. Something in keeping with redeeming of Ned's Character. He doesn't seem the cheating kind...

Not all Targaryen's have Silver hair. Rheagar alone had a daughter who favored her mother, Elia. She had dark hair and eyes.
I'm not a big proponent for R+L but it is an excellent theory with a lot of support. I think if anything Lyanna is surely Jon's mother. The father, well, honestly, it's just as likely to be Arthur Dayne as Rheagar, he's literally with her more often than Rhaegar.

Yeah but do you think he would besmirch his vows like that? Or betray Rheagar like that? Or that his two brothers would still fight by his side against Ned if it were his child and not Rheagars Lyanna was pregnant with?
We dont know much about him but he is said to be noble.
Yeah but do you think he would besmirch his vows like that?In short, Probably.
In long, Every other kingsguard is. Even Barristan Selmy, who everyone agrees is highly honorable, considered it. He also broke his vows when he agreed to serve the usurper. Once we start discussing characters who are kingsgaurdsmen, the only ones who have remained faithful to there vows are the ones GRRM tells us next to nothing about.
Or betray Rheagar like that?
If Rheagar was never intersted in Lyanna I don't see how this is a betrayal...
Do you think he would be so offended that one of his Kingsgaurdsmen had sex? Maybe Aerys, but Arthur isn't just Rheagar's gaurdsmen, he's his best friend. I don't think he would consider this betrayal - I've even considered that maybe Rhaegar giving Lyanna the rose at the tourney was just a symbol of his acceptance and love for her as his best friends lady.
Or that his two brothers would still fight by his side against Ned if it were his child and not Rheagars Lyanna was pregnant with?
This is the singular dilemma in the my opinion. Would his brothers fight by his side? It's hard to say. All the Targaryen's are either dead or fled at this point. Though they do reference there vows. I still think there is the possibility though the Rheagar commanded them to stay there under any and all circumstance.
There is also the possibility that Gerold and Arthur would work together because they were both dornish and connected before they were ever kingsguard or they united after Elia's death.
I've always found the strongest point for R+L to be the quote from Gerold about keeping his vows. One strong point for sure.

I think Jon is a Targaryan too!
I think that in the end someone will finally sing a Song of Ice and Fire, Benjen Stark will be found maybe with Rickon on Skagos and Theon shall become Iron King. All Lannisters except Tyrion and (maybe) Jaime will die,and of course, Daenerys will marry Aegon and they will rule the Six kingdoms (because North will become independent)
I think Jon may still be alive (or maybe I am just hopeful that will happen). I think the North may bow down to a Targaryan, and if anyone becomes independent it will be the Iron Islands. I also, think the majority of the Lanisters is going to die not including Tyrion but deff Jamie. I also, think the Starks are going to reunite and we are finally going to find closure with Benjen Stark and Rickon.
Is it ridiculous to hope that Tyrion sails back to Westeros with Victarion and they get blown off-course and to the Vale, where he is reunited with Sansa? He then saves her from Littlefinger, and Sansa finally realizes that he's not a monster and they live happily ever after as Wardens of the North. Then, Jamie and Brienne somehow find the disgraced Littlefinger, bringing him face-to-face with zombie Cat. Daenarys is reunited with Jorah and meets Moquorro, who urge them to sail with the Unsullied to the Wall, where Melisandre has un-warged Jon Snow's body from Ghost's. They fight off the creepy Others with the dragons (lightbringers) then rule King's Landing together. Arya gets sent to kill Aegon, cause the Braavosi don't like Dragons, and when Jon shows up in KL, she's paved the way for his return, and they're happily reunited. Sam and Alleras/Sarella learn how to breed dragons, and go to KL to be maesters for Jon and Dany. I can't make myself care what happens to Bran. But I bet he runs into Benjen, if he hasn't already (Coldhands??). I hope Davos has a happy ending. Maybe he brings Rickon back to Winterfell, to serve as Tyrion and Sansa's Hand.
Oh, and the Unsullied stay at the Wall as the Watch.

If they are sailing to The Reach or the Iron Islands, not likely at all since those are on the Western side of Westeros and the Vale is on the North-eastern side of Westeros. If they are sailing to King's Landing... again, I guessss so. But it would be a LONG way off course!! That is a large distance.

I've heard that too. But that depends on what he means by favorites. No way he kills off Tyrion. And everyone's got different fav's. I could see bad endings for Cersei, Cat, Margery, Stannis, Mance, Jorah... maybe even Theon. It'd be surprising if he killed off Sansa or Arya.
Well, whatever else happens, I do hope Arya gets sent to kill Aegon. GRRM needs to start splicing off story lines!!
Eyehavenofilter wrote: "I just want the next damned book already."Me too. Prob not for another 2 years tho :(
i think Jon might be one of the only characters that sees it to the end, everyone else will jut die.
I sorta hope he kills off most the characters anyway. It'd be amusing and realistic.
He'll likely let Tyrion live I assume though, he's expressed his favoritism toward the character. I wouldn't be surprised of Littlefinger lived too. The only person I can conceivably imagine killing him would be SweetRobyn or Sansa and I doubt either will actually do it.
Wouldn't be surprised if Ramsay lived as well. Though it'd be nice if it were in the most painful way possible.
