I found a recipe grandpa liked. I stuffed the pork with some garlic, then marinated it in white wine, olive oil, thyme, onion, and salt. I even tossed in a couple of bay leaves.

So now I know about six things that grandpa will eat.

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3597 comments Kevin, I thought local jails had a library, but I guess I was wrong. Your town library set up this program?

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
I took his initial post to mean that the local jail library is a cart that resides there, it just needs a pusher, and no inmate (or regular library volunteer) would do the deed?

message 355: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) I'm sitting in my office in an empty building except for my neighbor and I'm laughing out loud while reading TC posts. My neighbor must think I'm nuts.

Is your neighbor a squirrel? Be careful, he will eat you.

It's not like I know much about jails, but in my imagination the larger jails and prisons have in-house libraries (so the inmates can research their cases and try to win a new trial) and the smaller ones most likely don't.

In my imagination Kevin works at a very small town jail.

message 359: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I think the Kokomo jail is pretty small.

message 360: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
Yeah I'm picturing something about this size.

message 361: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That big?

message 362: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
Maybe more like this.

message 363: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That looks a lot more secure anyway.

Félix (habitseven) Wow there it is! Good job, Double!

message 366: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Right now I am irritated by the presence of a spoiled five year old in the office.

message 367: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Right now I'm...sewing.

Just closed up a seam on a red henley that was in with the winter clothes I just took out. Next project, a little harder: mending a torn pocket on my corduroy coat.

message 368: by [deleted user] (new)

Jammies you have my full sympathy. Nothing worse than spoiled brats in the office.

Jonathan, where have you been all my life?

message 369: by Jonathan (last edited Nov 02, 2011 03:51PM) (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments I wouldn't want to exaggerate my sewing skills, Gail. I'm actually pretty clumsy with a needle and thread. But I think my awkward stitching will not be such a big problem on the coat, which is a bit tattered anyway--just adds to the overall rumpled look.

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
You are extra skilled if you can sew and type at the same time. Good work!

message 371: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Barb, I'm sure your five year old is much better than this one.

Thank you, Gail!

message 373: by Cheri (new)

Cheri | 795 comments Our local Friends of the Library group take in donated books for used book sales to raise money for library programs. The leftover paperbacks go to our county jail to be given to inmates. The jail staff go through the books and toss what they didn't want to give out. True crime books never made the cut. Leftover romance books go to the retirement homes. Those old folks love the bodice rippers! Everyone is happy when they get a book.

message 374: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I'm sitting in my hotel room in Ontario, California watching the Food Network.

message 375: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments Ontario, Calif.? Is that near Los Angeles?

message 376: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It is. In the Inland Empire region. Near Riverside and San Bernardino.

I thought that was where the cool mod suburbs are located, where Leave it to Beaver's and Growing Pains' home exteriors are located.

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments I'm waiting........and waiting....for the damn doc to come in and dismiss me after lying in this hospital bed for 6 days!! I am so ready to go home. Not a damn thing I'm gonna miss about my little 'vacation cottage'.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm ... could be.

message 388: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Six days is a long time for that. Hope all is well.

message 389: by [deleted user] (new)

It's Sunday morning, I've come to work to finalise some reports and I find myself playing in here. Doh!

Gotta go!

message 390: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) I hope you get out of that hospital bed soon, Angela!

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments Thanks, ladies. I really appreciate the well wishes. I'm out (finally) and doing well. I still get tired faster than normal. But hey, it's getting me a little sympathy from Mr. Angela and my daughter and they're helping with chores that are usually left to me. :)

Phil | 11841 comments When we lived near a Qdoba restaurant I would go there and order a naked burrito.

message 398: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I like their naked burrito too.

message 399: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It's just another example of the declining morals of this day and age. Naked burritos, I mean.

message 400: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I tell ya, those burritos just drop their wrap right in front of you with out a care in the world.
