I don't think it makes much difference whether you do the laundry with all your heart and soul, or some fraction thereof. It still gits done.

I think you can do laundry lackidasically and do it wrong. Sweeter once washed his leather slippers with a load of whites.

message 3353: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
That would never happen with me because first the slippers would never be in the laundry basket, and because I lift each item individually out of the basket and drop it into the machine. He must be dumping the whole basket.

Félix (habitseven) I'm trying to ignore the half-baked live cover band music outside my window at the Taste of Omaha horrible event. Or event horrible. Whatever.

Susan | 6406 comments Just finished the following:

* 3 loads of laundry
* weeding flowerbeds and garden
* tying up tomato plants
* harvesting some radishes
* splitting and replanting my iris plant
* made a fresh pitcher of lemonade

Now if I could just get the house cleaned this could become an accomplished day.

Taking a breather before heading back up to Fort Collins. Summer vacation sure does require a lot of work and a lot of driving.

Folded all the laundry from the past two days. I love folding underwear, it's so zen. I listened to Mussorgsky as I folded. I think I'm developing a social disability, though. I don't want to see anyone.

I have a friend coming into town with her whole family - not for me, but for another event, but she wants to see me as well. I'm having trouble rustling up the enthusiasm. It's awful, I like her a lot, I just am not feeling social. At all.

message 3368: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I have felt like that. Since you do enjoy her company, it will end up being an enjoyable time. Try not to think too much about it until it is time to see her.

I cleaned my house, so together we got a lot done. By the way, your list made me tired, so right now I'm going to try to make it through the rest of the unread threads, then go to bed.

message 3370: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I am glad somebody got around to the housework!

I forgot to add that I painted my toenails. Then I moved on to getting dinner ready. I made tofu salad sandwiches (which were so killa) and salads from the mesclun and green leaf lettuce in the garden. Mmmm.

I really need to clean the house today but I also need to work on a cover letter and resume.

message 3371: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Did you wash your hands, so the salad didn't taste like toes?

I am helping huzzzband with his, first. Then I will work on mine.

message 3379: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Just finished the Deadliest Catch finale. Decent season, though it felt rushed. Were there fewer episodes this time?

Also, right now I'm disgusted with GR for being unable to properly implement a message system. The number of "broken" topics in TC is now greater than the number of working threads. It is NOT hard to implement a system that will correctly tell users how many unread messages a thread contains, and it is NOT hard to take them directly to the first unread message when the open the thread. Yet at GR, the programmers seem unable to get this done, with more threads joining the "broken" list every day.

Fuckers!

I've only been watching for four seasons. Man, I wish Elliott would pull his head out of his ass. I enjoy watching him fish and the attitude he has, but his lack of attention to his craft because of his failed relationships at home is ANNOYING.

It's in my Netflix queue, but I've seen a good bit of it. Phil's stroke scared me like it were my own daddy!... And I wanted to take the younger brother out & give him a whoopin'! Blasted selfish behavior. I have to take breaks, I get too attached to characters. I don't need to have any of that lot keeping me up at night worrying like I know em or somethin'.

message 3383: by [deleted user] (new)

Having a cappucino, reading, and checking out GR.

You'll see a lot of those brothers in the season after the stroke, and you'll probably want to slap the younger one around to wake him up. The end of the current season brightens that family story a bit.

Right now I have 8 15/16 year old boys in my house, helping celebrate my sons 15th birthday. Heaven to Betsy 15 year old boys take up a lot of space and they are very load. They are sleeping over. Where will I put them all? I hope they sleep in tomorrow.

message 3390: by Scout (new)

Scout (goodreadscomscout) | 3597 comments Feeding that many boys must be a challenge. Mine was a bottomless pit at that age. Maybe some turkey sandwiches to put them to sleep!

We did feed them a lot. :)

At 3:30am we suggested it was time to go to bed, fed them bacon,eggs, chipolatas and toast for breakfast at 9:30am. Now they are gradually disappearing as the parents come to collect them. The house is almost back to normal.

message 3394: by [deleted user] (new)

Thankfully they don't continue to do that. Both my kids are bigger than me now. Imagine.

They are lovely Scout. I have been doing some gardening recently. While cutting back some of the over grown areas I discovered a miniature gardenia. It's amazing it has survived.
