Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments He's a handsome pup. There have actually been occasions when I had to explain to my wife why Charley has come home with lipstick on his collar. Random women run up and smooch him on the street.

HA! Mrs. Jonathan has a right to be wary. Just so the women aren't smooching you, too!

message 3053: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments With the likes of Charley around, Cynthia, honestly nobody notices me at all. I'm just the guy holding the leash. But you're right in principle, and my wife does advocate a strict no smooching policy as regards me and random women on the street. Quite sensible, really.

message 3054: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments She sounds quite reasonable. Smooching is a gateway drug.

message 3055: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Right now I'm dreading taking Carl out. Maybe a random woman will smooch him. He's quite good looking.

Oh, same here. It's a long day, and it's Friday, and I'm too old to seem keen about it. I'm going to need a nap. I hope "they" realise.

Appropriate. God can that woman sing.

I'm as giddy as a spider spinning daydreams...

Susan | 6406 comments I really hope little starts having better nights and stops being scared of his room. :(

message 3076: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Is he afraid of monsters?

I used to go around my son's room with my invisible can of "anti-monster spray," getting all the nooks and crannies so the meanies couldn't get in.

message 3077: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments He seems to be afraid of one corner of his room. He tells me there is a Gobby there, whatever the eff that is. I tell him it is all gone, stand in the corner and wave my arms around and say it is all better. He sometimes doesn't want me or one of the dogs to go into the corner. I have been reading that this is somewhat typical for his age but he is seriously frightened and it is worse at night. Last night I had to sit on the floor of his room for two hours before I could sneak out. First thing this morning, he was crying hysterically.

Susan | 6406 comments Thanks Heidi and Phil. I am going to try this tonight. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

::checks list::

Not one crumpet.

Scones, tiny cupcakes, little quiches, finger sandwiches, mini muffins, chocolates.

A selection of teas, champagne and guava juice, fresh and minted watermelon juice, lemon lime and bitters.

Susan | 6406 comments Yum. What a sweet little party!

message 3085: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments EVIE: sounds like a good party. Throw in some clotted cream and I'm on the next plane.

Right now, I am drinking Tazo full leaf "Refresh" tea and trying to get ready for Mass.

At noon, I go to visit a "failure to thrive" Hospice lady.

Susan | 6406 comments BunWat wrote: "Susan wrote: "Sitting outside little's door until I can sneak away."

Is the "monsters not welcome" advice from Heidi helping at all, Susan?"

I tried and little even joined in with throwing his arm out and yelling, "Go gobby goooo", but he still cries if I try to leave the room. I tried giving him a special light that gobbys do not like and went out and bought him this lightup stuffed animal. We have compromised with me sitting in the hallway next to his door. It is an easier sneak away spot. Our floors are very creaky.
Last night, he woke up crying so I snuggled him in my bed.
