message 2702: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Right now I'm hoping Zayvion doesn't start crying while I'm typing. He's had his bath and a nighttime snack, he's in his sleeping outfit and just sort of chillin' in his bouncer thingy.

Phil | 11841 comments We (zay, my son and I) made it through our babysitting gig for tonight. Two more nights of doing this on our own. Next week, Mrs. Phil will be back to assist.

Whew.

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Procrastinating. I don't want to get out of bed.

message 2706: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Pleasantly sleepy from my bedtime dose of Benadryl and wondering which Godiva chocolate I'm going to have for a bedtime snack.

message 2707: by [deleted user] (new)

Waiting for the mister to sign on the dotted line so we can get this show on the road. The little fat girl was promised DINNER!

Susan | 6406 comments Realizing cough drops leave the most disgusting film on my teeth. I just keep brushing them then need another cough drop.

message 2709: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Getting my books ready for school tomorrow, and an outfit ready for an honors dinner tomorrow night. Now I'm taking a break, and attempting to crochet.

Louise whoa... What do you do when someone you know semi-well - and thought you were on friendly terms with -completely out of the blue bites your head off? Do you go back later and ask them WTF or just wait and see what they do next?(and is it silly to be really hurt by it?)

message 2711: by [deleted user] (new)

I have just returned from a 40 minute brisk lunch time walk. Desperately trying to cool down.

message 2712: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I'm facing a dilemma.

My art history professor made a comment today that made me feel very uncomfortable, and I don't know how to proceed. She basically said that if a woman dresses a certain way, she can't complain when she gets grabbed (by a man). She's older (50s-60s), so maybe it's a generation thing. The girl next to me felt uncomfortable as well. I don't want to run to the admin like a child, but I signed up for an art history class, not her views on sexual harassment/rape.

message 2713: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It's a generation/ignorance thing. I would wait to see if she is determined to infuse her classes with such claptrap.

I really hope that this is a one time thing. I actually like the material that we're learning.

message 2715: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That's good.

message 2716: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I agree with FeLarryix. Wait and see. If she is going to continue to sneak in claptrap (love that) it will be evident in her lectures in time enough to drop.

message 2717: by Louise (new)

Louise Maybe she's annoyed that when she was young she had to wear really dull and decent clothes?
Hopefully she just wasn't thinking...

Arrh here the weather has been a gray, mushy fog during the day and a black mushy fog during the night - I miss the sun! :-)

Agreed, BW. Here too.

message 2722: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I am discombobulated now. What is where?

message 2723: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments The Milwaukee Airport has a Recombobulation Area right after you go through Security.

message 2725: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments If you don't mind missing the newer stuff, you can see Old Milwaukee at your grocery store. It might be just what is needed for your recombobulation effort.

message 2726: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments Thanks, Phil!

::cracks open Old Milwaukee::

The area where the college is is conservative republican. We also have hosted many republican events on campus recently, much to my dismay. It's kinda the rich WASPy crowd.

Jim | 6484 comments Gail wrote: "::crosses off Milwaukee airport from my list of places to visit::"

So you want to stay discombobulated?

message 2730: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Waiting for math to start. I'm hoping for no communism lectures today.

message 2731: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments BunWat wrote: "First of all what on earth does it have to do with art history and why bring it up at all?"

Actually, Bun, it's one of the five principles of art history, as codified by Swiss connoisseur Heinrich Wölfflin in Kunstgeschichtliche Grundbegriffe (1915): linearity, unity, planar recession, tectonic form, and nice girls seldom expose their ankles in public.

...or at least that's what I think he said. My German is a little rusty.

message 2732: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Well, Jonathan would know this. There you have it, Laurin.

message 2733: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments Well when you put it in fancy terms like that, anything could be true!

message 2734: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I found this today... How fitting, maybe I should show my art teacher? http://imgur.com/gallery/ODbdX

write book review
clean bathroom

Susan | 6406 comments That Night Time cold crap is a farce. The last two nights I have been wide awake. The damn stuff gives the worst hangover ever, though.

I'm scared of cold medications. They always seem to do a number on me.

Lesson: don't take a decongestant if you have to be out in public for the next 48 hours. Your nose will NOT stop running. It's a disaster. Infinitely better to be completely congested.

message 2748: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I had staved off using anything but cough drops for a week. Not even for the sinus headache I had for 5 days - straight! But the coughing at night was doing me in and I finally broke down.

Yeah I hear you, girl.
