message 201: by Jammies (new)

Jammies http://curmudgeonette.blogspot.com for a quick overview of the visit. The lake was lake-y and smelled like seaweed, which always lets me know I've arrived at vacation time, I read an average of a book a day, and I got a decent book for $4, plus I got to play with my nieces and nephews. :)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Holy Crap Jammies! Only ONE vacation day left this year! You poor thing. Love the reference to "puppy prison." Great stories.

Janice (jamasc) I enjoyed your blog! So much for dogs being loyal. :)

Hello Jammies! I want to read your blog, and I will when I catch up on the ten days of internet I've been missing.

Right now I'm here to say:

When have I ever done that?

message 216: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
In the future, maybe.

message 217: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Not likely, though.

message 218: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Right now I'm cleaning tomato sauce out of a carpet.

I was sitting at the computer desk when my son came over to show me that he'd eaten most of his dinner. Whilst displaying the plate, he dropped it on my lap, the keyboard, and the floor.

He had been eating spaghetti.

Great.

Phileroo never taught his son that skill. He was too busy riding his trainer.

message 221: by Janice (new)

Mark Burns (TheFailedPhilosopher) | 441 comments Right now I'm right to write a personalized note to go with a book that I'm given to a friend. (She actually wants it signed for posterity, it's going to have to be a good note).

message 226: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) missed you, Sally! right, now I am trying to get motivated for work... it is only Tuesday :(

I didn't know Jammers had a blog. Must read it.

And I'm glad Sallers is back and the internet exists in the middle of nowhere.

My internet goes all the way to space and back!

Petra, it is going to be a beautiful day. What are you listening to while you walk around lately? Are you afraid of dogs?

Barb, wear this hat.

message 232: by Julie (new)

Julie (jooliaaah) Right now I'm in a horribly boring WebEx meeting. Snoooore.

message 233: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Right now I'm sitting here seething over a client who is in with my boss but on his way in to the meeting left his personal paperwork on my desk with a request for two copies.

Um...

NO!

(And in the spirit of welcoming Sally back, "FUCKER!")

message 234: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Right now I am weighing my options for what to wear to Saturday's Iowa Straw Poll.

I'm considering: A simple string of pearls,
A modest skirt,
A Freshly laundered and starched apron,
My wedding ring (naturally!)
A silk blouse,
my best stockings.

Should I wear a name tag: "Hi my name is MRS. Joe Blow" or would that be too much??

If anyone asks me who I'll be supporting in this year's straw poll, I will reply sweetly, "Oh gosh I don't know! You'll have to check with my husband! We always vote as a bloc."

message 235: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Shoes? Classic black heels?

You could go as Mrs. Dr. Mr. Cynthia, Esq.

message 236: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I think I'd better stick to my sensible oxfords, dear! I'll be doing a lot of walking, probably some running is more like it. Those NRA gentlemen scare the dickens out of me.

"Mrs. Dr. Mr. Cynthia, Esq." That certainly has a nice ring to it!

message 237: by janine (new)

janine | 7709 comments Poor dickens.

Right now I'm wondering why Carol was stalking me. I'm really not that interesting.

message 249: by Angela~twistedmind~ (last edited Aug 11, 2011 06:05PM) (new)

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments Right now I'm chuckling over LG and Phil's conversation concerning loud, yet hilarious farts in the "When, if ever, is it okay to "parent" someone else's child" thread. Which, in turn, makes me realize just how often I have to listen to farts. The kids in my daycare fart often, loudly and proudly owning each one......repeatedly, until someone, anyone finally acknowledges them. My darling hubby, however, will, while lying with his ass pointed directly at my face from 2 feet away, let go such a blast of gas that I'd swear my hair blew in the breeze it created. And, yes, he blames it on the dog. With a straight face, no less. Or, get this; a bone popping. Um, yeah, that growl I just heard come from your general direction was your hip popping. Better go get that checked out, love.
