HA !! I notice you called me a douche! As if.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments P.S. Steve King has a real honest-to-God challenge this year for his seat in Congress! Christie Vilsack, former first lady of Iowa and champion of both libraries and literacy is running on the Democratic ticket!

Mrs. Vilsack was also very involved with a pregnancy prevention campaign that included a very tall stork--the TV ads were hilarious. Couple makes out in a car, suddenly a guy in a stork costume knocks on the window...Watch out for the stork. The group handed out condoms to college kids. Love it.

Janice (jamasc) Falling asleep! I've had some long days at work and it's interfering with my TC addiction!

There there Janice. Come, here is a strong cup of coffee to wake you up, to ensure you get your TC fix.

message 156: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) Thanks Gail! I'm dragging my arse this morning. Coffee is greatly appreciated. :)

I'd better get going... at this rate, I won't be at my client's till after 10:00. She doesn't care when I come and go so I tend to take advantage of that and take my time getting there.

message 157: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments My dog dragged his arse once. I hope your dragging wasn't for the same reason.

message 158: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) On the carpet. Yeck. I had a cat that had that problem/habit. We nicknamed her streak.

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments Right now I'm enjoying the silence of naptime. *contented sigh* Maybe now I can actually put a dent in my inbox (although I have only 45 min. until it's time to get Lynn up for work). I'm sinfully gleeful that it's Friday and the work day is half over.

message 160: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Right now I am counting down until it's time to go home. Just an hour and a half left to go! Maybe I'll be able to slip out early...

Félix (habitseven) It's Friday, y'all.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Friday Friday Friday! All day long!

message 164: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments I love Friday, but only after 5. Until then it's the slowest moving day of the week.

Félix (habitseven) What?

message 168: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Go back to post #149, Larry...

message 169: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Ah.

message 170: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments You need to footnote your posts, RA.

message 171: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I try to live in the moment, and not on the previous page.

message 172: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments That would be kind of useful, actually, Jonathan, as an option...good idea. But GR seems to have enough issues just keeping itself up lately.

message 173: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It's so slow. Anyone else notice?

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
Yeah it's the 1,000,000+ new members from some defunct site.

message 175: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Really?

message 176: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

 ~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Yeah, it's the Living Social/Visual Bookshelf migration.

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
Right.

message 179: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That sucks.

message 180: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments The slowness sucks, but the migration does explain a lot.

message 181: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Someday we'll look back and call it the great migration.

Stina (stinalee) | 749 comments ms.petra wrote: "woohoo! congrats! what did you get?"

I picked up a Nissan Rogue... super cute crossover that is AWD and a perfect upgrade from my sedan.

Right now, I just got back from a visit to the hospital to see my grandpa (he's being discharged tomorrow- yay) and I'm throwing clothes into a bag for a trip to the Tri-Cities to watch the boat races. I'll keep my eyes peeled (sp?) for Misha!

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments ...listening to this old song. It's a bit sentimental but just a beautiful melody, and I really like the video it's paired with on YouTube:

message 185: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) I have to take my MAC into the Apple store this am for my genius bar appt. Hopefully this weird thing it is doing is not something too serious and I won't have to leave it there for service.

What kind of weird thing was it doing? Mine’s been a bit weird since my last software update. It won’t go to sleep. It’s starting to creep me out.

message 187: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments My Mac has been very slow waking up. That's a new thing -- it used to jump into action fairly quickly. Now I get a lot of rainbow spinny-circles.

message 188: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) Me too Phil! Stephen "the genius" said it was a software issue and he erased something and reloaded it.... now it is fine... I am less than technical ... I just want it to work :)

message 189: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments Celebrating - we just got our file server back, and they are replacing the 2 AC units as I type this. It has been a very long week.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Time to kick back, Jim!

message 191: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Right now I'm debating whether to go riding. My ride partner canceled this morning because she has a stomach ache. Do I want to ride solo, or maybe just ride the trainer for a couple of hours?

message 199: by ms.petra (new)

ms.petra (mspetra) how was the lake, Jammies?

message 200: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) Welcome back Jammies! There's a package at the post office for me - possibly your book? I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
