Félix (habitseven) I'm sitting at may desk at work hearing the music from the Red Sky music festival a couple blocks away at the T D Ameritrade stadium. And thinking about that first glass of wine when I get home.

Mine too, but it is a little cold at the moment.

message 143: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Right now I'm wondering if I'll ever get a response to the e-mail I sent Monday night to my congressman.

In the past I've received form letters having nothing to do with the subjects I wrote about, along with multiple solicitations for donations. I don't hold out much hope.

I'm not fond of him as my representative. Mr. Matheson may have a "D" after his name on the ballot, but on every significant piece of legislation he votes with the "R"s. Health care bill? Voted against. Insane "Cut, Cap, Balance?" Voted for.

Fucker.

message 144: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments My Senator, Tom Harkin (D, Iowa) is VERY good about e-mail responses. I usually e-mail him a couple of times a year on leaving Planned Parenthood the hell alone and he (his staff) are good about responding. The guy first got elected to congress in 1976, so he's had many years to learn about taking care of his constituents.

My other Senator, Chuck Grassley (R. Iowa) is less responsive and generally off-topic with his replies. He rarely aknowleges that I called him a douche in my emails. He never admits that his disagrees with me on every topic I've written about.

message 145: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Grassley is a bizarreling.

message 146: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments He is right on a couple of issues, and I mean exactly two. He has challenged things like mega-churches paying zero taxes and some of the state funding that goes to college athletics. Other than that, he's an embarassment to Iowa. But not as much as Rep. Steve Freakazoid King. What a dork.

Lol. "Dear Cynthia: I noticed you called me a douche in your email...."

Grassley and King are both repulsive and horrific.
