Right now I'm wondering why some CD tracks on a CD rip and some won't.

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments Right now I'm snotty and sore, but very happy to have the day off work :)

message 1260: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Right now I am wishing better health to Emily and Catdoz, and painting my nails with a complicated series of layers which will hopefully mimic an $18 polish.

Hope you're feeling better Emily. Have some hot black tea with lemon.

I'm listening to our one radio station and writing final exam reviews. Total nerd in a small, small town. Little fish, little pond?

Trying to air out the house. The smell of something I burnt yesterday is still hovering in the air.

message 1271: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Try roasting some garlic. That will overpower anything else.

message 1272: by Lobstergirl, el principe (new)

Lobstergirl | 24788 comments Mod
I appreciate the tip, but I don't want an overpowering garlic smell. Maybe I'll bake some cookies or something.

message 1273: by Cheri (new)

Cheri | 795 comments Trying to relocate a swarm of my bees. I know, why am I on GR? I'm waiting for the bees to calm down and find their queen so I can shake them out of the tree about sunset and get them into their new hive after dark.

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Taking a break from cleaning the bedroom and getting ready to make some lobster and shrimp ravioli for dinner. I'm not big on lobster, but I figured I'd give it a try.

That's a great idea, although I don't have any.

I have air freshener spray but I hate using it because it leaves sticky residue everywhere. Basically I never use it.

message 1279: by Emily (new)

Emily E (emily_e1) | 1032 comments Good luck with the bees Cheri! We had a swarm make a home in one of our trees for a few hours and then they moved on. I hope yours re-locate without too much tree-shaking!

message 1280: by mark (new)

mark monday (majestic-plural) I'd also, last week, donated a foot of hair for "Locks For Love."

message 1290: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments Right now I'm wondering what I can do to help Mrs. Phil. The word on her dad is not good. He's in a long term care facility in Texas these days and has stopped eating. He was put on hospice care yesterday afternoon. The doctor says he is now in full renal failure and they give him from two days to a month.

It sounds horrible, I know, but I'm very glad we got him relocated to TX this year. Having her mom die at our house was traumatic for Mrs. Phil, and she still, to some degree, blames herself for that. Experiencing that all over again with her dad would be too much for her to bear. At least now it is up to her brother to handle the day-to-day details and the arrangements after he dies.

Give Mrs. Phil a box of chocolates and a spa day. Take her out for a steak dinner and tell nice stories about her dad. Tell her all that you can remember fondly about the man.

message 1292: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11841 comments After having him living in our home for about 18 months there isn't much fondness left. He wasn't the most pleasant man, but she did enjoy making him smile and taking him out gambling.

message 1293: by Jammies (new)
