How old is he? What is his breed? Does he have papers?
Unfortunately, horses are like cars. The upkeep (gas and feed) don't increase the value.

Viruses."
Oh jeez, thanks for that! I only had to try on two dresses, so maybe my risk is low?
Anyway, we chose the dresses. The damn things never fit right off the rack, so there's another 30-40 bucks added for taking it in. Argh. I can only complain so much, as the bride's mother is paying for half of the dress cost (not the alterations). Now, if only I had more faith in the longevity of the marriage, I could justify spending over $100 for the privilege of being in someone else's wedding.

He's got to be about 10 years old, a heinz 57 pony, with no papers.

I'm hoping they can do it, but I've lived with them for two years, and I just don't see it working out in the long term.
I'm watching a Pixies live in concert DVD and waiting to play Ticket to Ride with my neighbor and Sweeter.
I'm listening to Sviatoslav Richter play Schubert's piano sonata D. 960 and getting ready to eat a Good & Plenty.

You're in Alberta? I bought a 1 yr old miniature mule out of a meat auction in Drayden (sp?)Valley for about $35 Canadian. $2,500 is too much. You could call his bluff but if he's a real a--hole, it's not worth a little girl losing her pony. Get a bill of sale and microchip him. Let me know how this turns out. What's his name?

The pony stays and my daughter-in-law will pay $2000 (when she can) for him. His name is Dune.
I spoke to a friend who was a legal assistant and she said that because the agreement was that my granddaughter could have the pony until she was done with him, it falls under contractual law and he wouldn't lose ownership title in spite of the fact that the horse was under our care at our expense.

Thank you Angela.

I think I've managed to comfort the kids, and reserve my own crying to when they're watching tv (I probably shouldn't have brought out those puppy pictures of her...)
It was the right decision, but man you grow fond of a dog who's with you for that long!

Aw, that's too bad.
Is that a really big dachsund, or are shibas quite small? (You said the second dog in the last pic is a dachsund, no?)

We have been thinking of getting puppies lately, I sure hope the years of love outweigh the pain of loss...

We try to have two dogs with an age difference, so when you loose one - you still have the other.
In a year or two we'll probably get a new shiba, and then the dachshund will be 4-5 years old.

Thanks Cynthia ;-)
On the picture she's 3 (and telling dad not to interfere in her picnic with Coco (sharing all her food :-))
Now she's 5 - and starting school this Summer!
