Ummm excuse me.

message 804: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Jim, are you in accounting? I just turned in an annual accounting to the probate court this morning. :)

message 805: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments For 30 years Jammies, and I hate to admit it but it really isn't the most interesting profession.

message 806: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Someone's got to do it. I thank the heavens every tax season for Murray, my tax man. Even his name, Murray, fills me with calm and confidence.

message 807: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments When I think Murray, I think of Murray's Sturgeon on 89th and Broadway. Jonathan, is Murray's still there?

message 808: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Sarah Pi, I saw a review of Murray's Sturgeon posted last month on Trip Advisor. Looks like they're still coooking!

I think of Murray Slaughter from the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

message 810: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Lopez | 4726 comments It makes me think of Murray the Cop from The Odd Couple.

Yes, Murray's Sturgeon Shop is still there. Still has that mid-1970s look.

murray's sturgeon shop, new york

message 811: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Yay!
I lived in the building above it, and went to school around the corner. I used to go to the grocery store that the couple is walking into and buy my ridiculous 8th grade lunch, which was half a honeydew, a bagel (sometimes) and a can of Hawaiian Punch.

Jim, accounting may not be exciting, but to someone like me, it's a welcome and soothing refuge from needy, distraught, messy, illogical human beings.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments My friend's dad was the chairman of the marketing dept when & where I went to college. He used to joke that he liked to go to the coke machine on the Accounting Dept floor because the majority of the students in Accounting were beautiful, smart girls. Coming from him, it wasn't creepy at all, it was charming, funny, innocent, and endearing.

I've been on the Dean's list every semester that I've been in college. :) 3.94 GPA at Kettering. 3.94 at my comm. college.

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments Right now I'm doing very tedious number checking and jumping every time my phone rings, hoping it's the company calling to schedule my interview. Also listening in on the phone conversations of our newest hire(he's like 20 feet away with his door open, so I'm not actually spying), and trying to figure out if I like him or if he's just a little *too* nice to be sincere.

message 828: by Laurin (new)

Laurin (llooloo) | 1867 comments I just finished a meeting. Now I'm deciding if I should start cooking dinner or do some more work. Ahh, the luxury of working part-time from home.

Barb, a couple of shots of Jameson will put you right. Have I ever led you astray before?

I'm tempted to steal the bottle of Grey Goose my boss (inexplicably) keeps in the trunk of his car.
