Sandra | 25908 comments Sarah's right but you can always look at the list just under our Bingo card on page 1, I try to keep it up to date :)

message 859: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1714 comments Thnx Sandra. I knew there had to be a way. One other thing in order to win do all shelves called have to finished or just the shelves that make up the bingo?

message 860: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Just the shelves that make up Bingo ;)

message 861: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Well I took a gander around at the other team's cards and we are doing VERY well. ;)

No other team has as many ways to win as us. (Yippee!) Most teams have only one or two. One team has three but still has to get the stamps for one or two squares to make the third happen. If we finish up our angels in a timely manner, as well as our dragon spot, we will have four ways to win. It will be a 1 in 3 chance of a winner being called. Luckily, most of the other winners are spots that would be winners for us too. We would just have to be 'speed readers'.

Lookin' good ladies!

message 862: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments I will be all caught up hopefully *crosses fingers* by the time the next shelf is called! I just have a lot going on this week but tomorrow night and Friday I can read all I want! haha

message 863: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments I know what you are saying Sarah since I had the same issue last week. :) You'll get there!

message 864: by Dana (last edited Oct 20, 2011 08:43AM) (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments So the last 36 hours has seen an explosion in other teams cleaning up old stamps that they needed to finish. I was poking around and cam across this post that Laura Lulu made and I had to swipe it. (bad me!)

These are the teams that can win for each of the remaining shelves:

Paranormal Romance - 1, 2, 3

Male Author - 1, 4, 5, 6

GR Author - 2, 3

Trilogy - 3, 4, 6

Ghosts - 5, 6

Vampires - 5, 7

Futuristic - 2

Speculative Fiction - 4

Series to Read - 4

Post Apocalyptic - 7

There's only one shelf left that won't give anyone a win - Magic.
(The way this game is going, I am half expecting 'magic' as the next shelf. :) I like plaing but it is starting to seem odd that no one has yet won.

message 865: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments Yikes well if it isn't the Magic shelf hopefully it will be speculative fiction or series to read! Wow that is crazy!

message 866: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments If it is 'male author' this is going to be one heck of a race! ;)

message 867: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments exactly! yikes I'll have to figure out what I'll read for that. I have my picks for speculative fiction and series to read ready to go.

message 868: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments I just realized I said yikes in two different comments.... weirdo over here haha who even says yikes anymore?? Obviously, I do haha

message 869: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1714 comments I was trying to find a book that would in all shelves for the win for our team. I think I found one that I have but searching those shelves and cross referencing is confusing.

I am about 50% done. Working overtime some evenings is cutting into my reading time.
Hope to be done on sat am.

message 870: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Got my fingers crossed for a #4 Seriesly Hawt Sirens win!!! LOL

Get ready for some quick reading teamsters.

Oh, let me know if you find one!!

My current planned Male Author is 662 pages (The Name of the Wind) and for a tight race that is a bit much! Currently, I am leaning towards my next Kate Daniels

But if you find a book that fits all of the shelves for the win...That would be awesome!!

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Ascension (The World of Ascension #1) by Caris Roane 10/20 ★ ★

Enjoyable in some ways and I liked some of the main ideas of this world but for the most part I found this story to have no 'believability'. There is no expalnation or basis for the worlds, why everyone is a vampire, etc.

The whole book I was reminded of J.R. Ward's BDB series. (Only I really like BDB.) They both have a band of vampire warriors in the story but that wasn't what felt familiar. It was the disconnection in some aspects of the language. If I heard the words 'lavender' or 'cardamom' one more time I was going to go crazy. It took on the qualities of Ward's 'shitkickers' for me and I just couldn't get past it. There were dozens of points in which the story just could have been written better and I would have been able to get a bit more into this story. I may try another in the series (or at least read some reviews) to see if the writing improves, but I'm not going to be ordering the book today or anytime soon.

AND, even though they all have angel wings and this is on the 'angel' shelf...there are no angels in it. *sigh*

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments Alright so I just finished Kiss of Fury by Deborah Cooke. I gave it 3 stars. I found myself kind of reading the dialogue and every couple pages. I like Donovan and Alex, I like the world they inhabit but for some reason these books are just not keeping me interested. I'm not sure I'll read the next one in the series.

Thanks, Zina! And The Golden Compass has a Kindle edition!

Do I even want to know how many hours you spent on that?

message 882: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Our Next Shelf is: 'Goodreads Author'
DIRECT LINK: Goodreads author

This shelf gives TWO teams BINGO ~ Double Trouble (#2) and Serious Series Sluts (#3). But, Double Trouble first needs to get their 'dragons' stamp, whereas SSS only needs to read, rate & review their books for this shelf to win.

Good luck to both teams! Happy Reading!

message 888: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Oh! Bummer ladies. :( I was almost expecting to be part of the 'last leg' since we had more possibilities than any other team, but man this round was fun! I'm off to to see if any of my October books fit the category so I'm not adding to my already huge list.

Enjoy the (more casual) week to read. :)

Zaanodes | 804 comments Goodreads Author: Haunted Finished 1 or 2 am 10/24 (could NOT sleep, so I read!) ★ ★ ★ ★

Wow. Previous books really can lead you astray. I try to keep an open mind about people (and characters) because inner thoughts that lead to outer actions are just that, inner thoughts, and therefore private. But dang! Sometimes I just don't allow quite enough wiggle room and I get surprised. I liked it.

message 900: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments I finished City of Fallen Angels yesterday morning but I couldn't find the words to write the review until today.

I gave it 5 stars. I think it's a really great transition into the second half of the series. I liked that Simon had a more prominent role in this one. The ending was frustrating! But I expected that, because of everything I'd read about it. Definitely a big cliffhanger and I see why everyone is going insane over it.
