Sets us up nicely ;)

I'm going it give it 3.5 stars (marked as 4) because it was good and captivating but very repetitive, I felt like the first 150 pages were all repetition, a lot of it could have been removed. It was a unique story though and I think anyone who likes Paranormal Romance will like it.

Good Job!! :D

All I can say is wow! I wasn't sure how I'd feel since it has to do with Vampires, but it's totally not what I expected. Even though they are vampire, and half-vampire there wasn't a lot of blood sucking and evil seducing. You know vampire things. I think this story is so unique and I am amazed at Richelle Mead's abilities. I've read the first two of her Georgina series and the first two of her Dark Swan series. I love them both (actually hoping to continue them soon) and I can now add this to the list. I gave it 5 stars.

Great going, especially as school can be tough :)

If so, a major undertaking. Packing all those books!
Magic Burns should be the perfect antidote to all your troubles :D

Well it was ok. I kept thinking this was Twilight meets Harry Potter. I like P.C. Cast's writing but I think this book lacked abit of some of her other work I have read. I have the second one and I will read it but not too soon. This one is going on the pile to be traded at the used bookstore.

Apt. to less $ apt. But, yeah, major undertaking.
Thank you, Granddaughter and significant other! I watch my four great-grandchildren while they do all the work! Then I fine-tune at my pace.

Good Job!! :D

Zaanodes, you need to write a review of a couple of sentences for it to count. Come on, I know you can do it :D

Ah, great installment in the series!
This book of the BDB had a different feel to it. It almost felt like a different writing style, still good but different. I've always liked Rehvenge so it didn't take anything to hook me into this book. Ehlena was a good character, very stable and solid girl with lots of good sense. The evolution of Rehvenge's personality was no shock to me so I had no issue getting behind his change.
The interaction with the symphath colony was really interesting. I wish though that we had discovered a bit about their origins. *If the Scribe Virgin got one shot at creation and made the vampires, then how are the vamps and symphaths related?*
The advancement of Lash as the big bad has been fun. (view spoiler)
Overall, this was one of my favorites in the series. Not so much for the great love story, although that was sweet, but for the advancements in the overall series storyline. This book sets up for a lot to happen in the future. Bring on the next! Oh, look....there it is on my bookshelf. ;D["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Read in 2010 shelf 20/9/11 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Basically a recap of my review from May 2011.
It was like a hyped up X Files episode from the Aliens perspective and not Mulder and Scullys.
Our intrepid heroine Katherine "Kitty" Katt is snarky, impulsive, clever and just darn good fun. We meet her as she takes out a monster who she later learns is an alien parasite infecting angry people. She calls them "fuglies".
Jef Martini, our alien hero, an empath, immediately falls in love with her, and seriously freaks her out.
The whole supporting cast of characters including the Kitty's Mossad, anti-terroist consultant mom and her dad the NASA cryptologist masquerading as a history professor are priceless.
Glad I've already got the next 2 in the series to read.
Oh, and all the covers are works of art!
Now if I could just stop coughing

I'm gonna peruse #2

Although my eyes are watering so I might just finish my coffee, take all the meds I can stand and go to bed. It's 8.30 pm just 5 hours earlier than normal sleepytime :D

This book was whimsical and enchanting for me. Unique and wonderful plot. I love this story. Magical & sweet. A tree is the true main character, which could make the story corny, but instead makes the story about how magic is as natural as all living things.
Hope you get better soon Sandra. I remember the last time I was home sick for a few days I read

Was a good chick lit book to get lost in for a few days.

OK, you are much more proficient in Message-boardese than I am....what?

This next week will be exciting I think. We have two ways to win so fingers crossed!

I help LIZZ NEIL in moderating a group called The Lost Challenges (Hi Sarah, Laura, and Zina! C= ). I just opened up a challenge that I thought some people here at SOS might like but I don't want to be tactless and make a post or something. I thought that you guys might like it, and if you have friends you could pass the word if you like.
Any-who, if you are interested, it is
The 'Jim Henson Tribute' Challenge
I love Jim Henson so I just couldn't help myself!

LOL Dana! Sorry. I was just sayin' blast JR Ward for those oddly placed 'h's in all her names and such. ;)
Off to scope out the group and challenge. Thanks for sharing :)

Dana, I'll check out the Jim Henson when my head is back in the game, I'm assuming it will start in October so probably next week hmmm.

Glad to hear your illness is at least pointed in the right direction...to the exit sign! ;)
I'm so sorry to hear about your aunt. Best wishes to you and yours.

Ohhhhhhhh(note the h's C= ), I get it now! DUH!
Yeah, the oversue of the letter 'h' is rampant in her books. I think it is because Wrath naturally has one in it, so then everyone else needed one too.
