R3 TEAM THREAD: Team #4 ~ Seriesly Hawt Sirens

I figure it should be a relatively fast read. I know I already like her writing, and after my last book I'm looking for goodness :D

Finished my demon read. Succubi like it hot. Sept 4/11. 3.5 stars
Funny read had me laughing out loud in parts. Lots of sex. Good light read just what I needed. Good plot. The ending was alright. I would consider reading others in the series.

So, for my supernatural read, I went with

I just love these books! Briggs has got it going on with this series. Most books have a 'feature' that stands out and causes you to really like them. A stand-out quality where the author has really exceeded expectations. This series is not like that. The Mercy Thompson series is one that few others fall in line with. It is perfectly balanced. There is just enough of everything to keep you happy, keep the story going, keep the romance aspect alive without taking over the story, enough sex appeal to keep the story hot without seeming gratuitous, enough.....of everything!
Iron Kissed was the shortest of the stories (if I am correct) but really good. A great trip into the world of the fae that revealed just enough to make the fae scary and still leave tons for development later on. I absolutely loved the turn that Mercy's relationship with Samuel took! The change in relationship with Adam was very tasteful and did not seemed forced to advance the plot. Good stuff I tell you!
I'm just sad that I have read half of the series now...sniff. It's all downhill now! ;)

Supernatural Shelf 7/9/11 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
This series is like doing a dance where you know the steps but aren't sure which order they should go in.
This 2nd outing is even more intricate than the 1st, and we see all the characters grow a little more. The time jumping helps with this as well as the trip to Faery.
Cassie has now become the Pythia, but finds out she has a geis placed on her by Mircea and no-one is able to remove it.
Which of course sets up #3 very nicely.
Really enjoying this series, looking forward to the next book.

LOL! That's a great way to put it. :D I'm looking forward to getting to Hunt the Moon #5 soon.

@Steph: Getting Hunt the Moon was probably the highlight of my year lol, hope you get it soon!

What an interesting read. To start off I wasn't too sure about this one. It seemed quite a dark story. The writing was surprisingly quite good. I really enjoyed the story. About halfway the story started to pick up and you had to hang on for the ride. I will continue with the series. Enjoyed it more than I had first thought I would.
Woohoo I am now caught up....Wonder what the next shelf will be?

Good Job!! :D

Well I had a fun weekend!! I had been putting this project off for long enough. DH is away for the weekend so I finally got time to organize all my books. I got all the Fiction books that I own put on Goodreads.
Oh my over 1100 books I have that I havent read yet....I even managed to categorize them...and have sections/shelfs just for a genre/author...the big ones being.. PNR/UF, Fantasy, King, Koontz, Rice, Chick Lit, Mystery,
Took 15 hours but now I know that all the books I have on here are in my house somewhere...
My plan going forward is to put on goodreads any books I get...But if I didnt buy anymore books I have enough books to read for 20 years (I think I only read about 50 books a year)...
For this weeks shelf I am reading

I'll be reading

Week 8: Fantasy Paranormal, G15
Read: 0/6
*September 11 - September 17*
Zina: Marked
Zaanodes: The Mane Squeeze
Sarah: Vampire Academy
Sandra:
Laura: Gone
Dana: Hounded

This book was so unexpected....i mean so many things happened that i was thinking would be not possible and the book ending was just super. I cant wait how Rose gets herself out of this one.

With this last book i was really disappointed, because the other two books were much better. In this book she is fighting with her own fears and it seems to me there isnt answer for her fears and thats the part i didnt like. There wasnt a way out for her and that made me feel a little sad.

Fantasy Paranormal Shelf 13/9/11 ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I've seen lots of negative reviews about Dmitri over the past 3 books and now we get his story in a very interesting way. I myself never minded Dmitri's attitude to Elena.
Honour is a Hunter who was attacked by vampires playing a deadly game, orchestrated by a pycho.
Two years later and Dmitri's and Honour's paths cross and he is angry that all the vamps haven't been punished yet, so decides to take over the case.
Like all Nalini's books there is more than one plotline happening, but for me the most intriguing is Dimitri's past history.
I think Dmitri and Honour will be great together and I look forward to seeing all the girls get together in future books.

Finished 9/13 ***
This series is light-hearted. Goofy. Silly. A fun read.

Oh what fun! Many reviewers of this story commented on how this book made them laugh out loud, and I have to count myself in with the group. I was working so hard on not laughing out loud while reading on a break that coworkers were giving me some strange looks. :) The banter between Atticus and his dog Oberon was classic.
Some good foundation for development with future characters happened here. There was quite a bit of history thrown at the reader in this book but I never felt confused by it. It was done in a 'well there you have it' kind of way that although you didn't disregard the information, you got the feeling that life would not end if you flunked the Celtic Pantheon quiz.
This was a great start to a series and I am looking forward to the next!
