I am really liking the Mercy series and can tell that these are just going to get better. For some reason, I didn't quite like this installment as much as the first, but I have finally realized that it is because I'm not a huge fan of Sam and his 'living arrangement' is not to my liking. Stephan is a fun character and I can tell that learning about his history as things progress will be tons of fun. Mercy's abilities are still a mystery if you ask me so that development will be enjoyable as well. Adam? *sigh* Adam is my favorite type of H and he is just ooozey levels of sexy!
Two thumbs up for the budding friendship with the 'female wolf' as well. Mercy needs girlfriends. :)

Happy Birthday: DD's(18) and DS (8)
Congratulations: DD in college and DD(5) in kindergarten
Hope your 'old' self had fun and survived: 3 separate 'get-togethers' for DS (8) and a friend's wedding and a 20 yr class reunion (Crap I am getting old!) and a dog!
Also hoping you treat yourself with something very special for making it through the MONTH OF STRESS!

This book was really good and I enjoyed it greatly! Well written and smokin' hot, I felt this was a well executed story. There was a good balance between the plot and the romance aspect so you weren't bored at any point. I only had one complaint and it was small. I felt that Talaith was a bit odd when it came to giving herself over to love. Grow a spine girl! Briec was a bit dense for being 264, but hey, men age differently than women, right? :D

2 hrs:
Empty house (possible? or after little ones in bed?).
Candles
Bath (salts or oils?)
Chocolate
Relaxing beverage
Relaxing music or book
Ahhhh, Calgon, take me away...

Sounds wonderful......wish I could have 2 hours alone in my house.

A little super hot water to start. Prep: last drink for kiddies, get book, etc. Swish and add more super hot water, swish and prep: (get YOUR drink, nightwear, etc). Swish and partially fill tub with super hot water while lighting candles and turning on music. Adjust water temp, swish and finish filling while getting loofa, putting up hair, etc...
Viola, no salt residue...
It sounds (and takes longer to type) more time consuming than it actually is...
Enjoy!

Cindy, it is the combo of hot water and time to dissolve. Remember to swish right before adding more hot water. If you swish just after adding hot water...well...BURN!! (Yes, I have forgotten a time...or two...or...lol)

Shifter Shelf 26/8/11 ★ ★ ★ ★
I enjoyed Storm's Heart, just not as much as #1 Dragon Bound. Just like everyone else. LOL
Nothing I can put my finger on, unless just that it has a lot of Fae stuff and I'm not a Fae lover.
So Niniane needs to survive the trip to Adriyel for the Coronation if she plans on being the Dark Fae Queen. Tiago decides he's gonna assist in that effort and just never leave. LOL. HEA ensues.
There, that's as spoiler free as I can get it :)

We'll probably learn more about the others now that Dragos is gonna be missing 2 of them. Though the way Grym was watching Aryal they will probably hook up.

Great minds - I was thinking the same re: Aryal.

I gave it 4 stars because I loved the romance, and the world building. I think it's such a unique concept. I'm a sucker for shifters and the Psy abilities were an added bonus. I'm eager to read the next one but I have to wait and see if I can swap for it, or I might just buy it haha.

I finally finished

August 27, 2010 3 stars.
Wow,wow,wow...took me two weeks to finally finish this book few reasons being RL just kept interfering, a 600 page hardcover is a bugger to lug around to get a quick read in and almost because I wanted to sit and drink a fine Merlot while I read.
It sounded like it would be one of those books that I would say for the rest of my life: "That was one of the best books I've ever read." It was so hyped up to be about magic and a world filled with other-worldly creatures.
It started out promising and had a few parts in the middle and end that were also intriguing. However, when I finished the book, I put it down and said "Wow, NOTHING happened." Quite literally nothing happened.
Essentially , it was a love story with an old fashioned feel with Matthew courting Diana. They didn't even consummate their marriage for crying out loud!!
There are parts where they speak in another language and the author doesn't even bother to translate it in English. I unfortunately don't know other languages so those parts would annoy me.
At one part, which was the only part with potential action, where Diana is captured, Matthew rescues her without a fight or struggle. He literally figures out where she must have gone after about 30 seconds of thinking, went there, took her and went home. I thought the book was going to take off at that point but instead it was incredibly anti-climatic.
The book was also too long. The author basically set up the rest of the trilogy with the entire first book. The book could have been much shorter considering nothing happened.
There were also a whole lot of new characters introduced in the last couple chapters which left the reader slightly confused and hanging. I wouldn't call it a story about magic. This book was a love story. Period.
I have to praise a couple things about this book though which is why I gave it 3 stars. Harkness is a beautiful writer. The way she uses the english language in some parts is like poetry. And I think that is why, despite the lack of plot in this book, I kept on reading. She also seems very well educated using many references to historical events and people. I am mixed because, even though this book was a disappointment, I think she set up the trilogy enough that the next 2 books have potential to be absolutely amazing. And I have to admit I am interested enough in the characters to possibly pick up the rest of the trilogy in the coming years.

Not sure if it is light n fluffy but a series I love and can probably read fast Oh and it had the least # of pages of my choices

Also...finished shifter...Visions of Heat **** Aug. 26 really like the cold psy with the hot shifter...the bad boy thing lol But the netmind is the clencher. Definitely will be reading more.
