Sooo....??? Tell me! That is on my TBR (bought DTB). I am anxious to know what you think.

Sooo....??? Tel..."
Me too!! I wanna know!! :D

I'm still working up to reviewing it really but I can give you my impression.
I absolutely loved this book. I thought it was awesome. I thought it burned with the smokin' heat of one thousand suns.....BUT, you have to love ginormous heavy on the world building epic fantasy to love this book.
It is long, and more importantly, the entire trilogy is one single huge story if I am getting the right impression. It is not as 'action' centered as some of these large fantasy novels are. It was much more introspective and focused on the one main character, Kvothe.
This story requires you to enjoy large scale world building and have patience for plot development. Rothfuss is a man who can write a fantastic story for the sake of a story. (You know how some people just tell good stories, even if they are just telling you about going to the grocery store?) He's like that, super talented and you just like his story telling style...regardless of topic.
I can usually push through a big book like this in a day or two but this one took a while and made me slow down and listen. I would totally recommend this book to anyone, but I would warn them that this is not an action/adventure film, it is the story of a man's life. A brilliant, brave, and heroic man, but a man just the same.
OK, so maybe I am ready to review the thing after all? Hmmmm...

its definitely my new favorite series. From the start it draw me in and i was hooked. Now i wonder why i didnt start it before, because it was just so amazing :)

Have you read the Sword of Truth? Wizard's First Rule is the first.

No I haven't read Wizard's First Rule yet, but another person recommended it as well so I must need to put it in my TBR. :)

Yep, I'm going for the styrofoam medal this week. ;D

Yes, except The Omen Machine: A Richard and Kahlan Novel which just came out.
:( I did have all of them in DTB, mostly hardback, and some of them got ruined...sigh...When I am ready to do a reread, I will have to re-buy them!

From what I can tell from his website, just the 12 that are out.

I was right in the middle of a sentence! UGH!!!

At such a young age, too. She would have been 7 months old on the 26th...sigh...

Have a great week end, y'all!!
Is it Tuesday, yet?? lolol

Awww so young! What a tragedy! :(

I liked it and the same time i didn't. Does that make sense. It get's me hooked and then i lose interest.
I liked the cat and mouse game they had with the mutts and i also liked that Elena and Clay made up and it was like happy ever after :)

You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'free space'.

I know exactly what you mean Laura, I only gave it 3 stars also.

Week 5: Shifters, I8
Read: 0/6
*August 21 - August 27*
Zina:
Zaanodes: Visions of Heat
Sarah: Firelight
Sandra: Storm's Heart
Laura: Kitty Takes a Holiday
Dana: About A Dragon

August is always hard for me. It honestly is busier than the holidays in my house (and it costs more!).
Week 1: My DD turned 18.
Week 2: Then I was gone to Mars, which was actually my 20 yr class reunion. (Crap I am getting old!) This required an 800 mile road trip with all the kids in the car. *sigh*
Week 3: My DS turns 8 tomorrow. This would keep us busy enough, but of course we had to make it really difficult and get him a dog! AND I am throwing 3 seperate 'get-togethers' for him...lord help me!
Week 4 (the 7th circle of Hell): I have to school shop for clothes and shoes for 3 children, pay my DD's(18) tuition to college, buy her textbooks, meet with the NAVY recruiter, take them all to the doc for checkups, enroll my DD(5) in kindergarten, get my brakes serviced, buy school supplies, get everyone's hair cut, attend a friend's wedding reception, take my DD(18) to get her driver's license, AND....all the normal stuff you have to do in any week + work. August is a nightmare for me.
Soooooo I am super-sorry that I am MIA so much lately girls. Like I said, RL is kicking my butt. ;)
However, I am going to finish

So sayeth Erato, on this day....

You sound like you're in for a very hectic week! Congrats on all the Birthdays though, and DD going to college! :D Exciting stuff!

Alpha Male Shelf 21/8/11 ★★★★
I'd already read the prequel, so I was somewhat acquainted with the world building before I picked up this book. I really enjoyed it, but for some reason I did find it easy to put down a couple of times.
This is steampunk flatout. Victorian politics & morals and automatons and airships. I quite liked, not loved both H/h, but it was a just a little too obvious, the thinking at cross purposes, right till the last page of the book.
I will be reading the next one which is due out November 2011.

I really think the H/h needed to connect more. They seemed to do too much talking in their heads and not to each other.
The next one is Yasmeen & Archimedes Fox, so that should be interesting.
