I'm just wondering why Jasper is the one that's less resistant to human blood. I know he's the new one and all, but seriously, hasn't it been a while since he joined the Cullens?

Does anyone know exactly how long Jasper has been in the family?
Jasper I think can't resist human blood, becasue he use 2 kill humans more than the rest of the Cullens. Remember, he had 2 work 4 Maria, his creater. So he has tasted more human blood and animal blood isn't as good as human blood. Bella is an entire new subject 2 the matter. She just fits 2 the life style of a vampire. It seems that she should had been born as a vampire.
For a very long time, human life was meaningless to him, they were just food, assets to be fought over and won in order to be fed upon. He gave no thought to who he was killing or the ethics of killing humans. All the other Cullens/Denali crew grew consciences of their own or had a conscience cultivated within them by good upbringing. But Jasper never did that or have any of that, he simply found the meaning of his life and followed her. I suppose he was tired of all the killing, but he never saw anything wrong with actually drinking human blood, which I believe is why he has such a difficult time controlling himself.Bella on the other hand was well aware of what she was getting herself into and she was taught of the ethics of being a "vegetarian" vampire. She chose the path of being a vampire and she believed that killing humans for nourishment would not be an acceptable thing. I suppose that's why she found it easier, because she grew a "vampire" conscience even before she was a vampire, that and I think Stephenie Meyer was trying to say that Bella should've been born a vampire...I don't agree with Bella being able to have as much self-control as Carlisle, that was definitely too unbelievable, she shouldn't of been so perfect as a good vampire. But yeah, I always suspected that she would have some sort of aversion to drinking blood/human blood, since, in her human manisfestation, she was so repulsed by it.
Bella I think has more self control than Carlisle, I tink because when Carlistle just turned intio a vampire, he couldn't resist blood, but did by escaping the town to the forest. So Bella in the 1st place didn't feel that uncontrolable! She was just fne like she just didn't have water 4 an hour or something.
It's because he was a non-vegi for a long time. Longer than he was a vegi. So it's pretty nuch just a habbit.
Ryan, do u think Bella should have been with Jacob and waved Edward good bye in New Moon?
Yeah. Edward broke her heart! If she was falling in love again then she should have said good bye to Edward. Edward doesn't desrve her, but Jacob was there for her, whenever and whatever she needed.
I agree. I thot Bella and Jacob should have at least tried a relationship!!
Yeah, but I got 2 say Jacob did some shady things in the past, like forcing Bella 2 kiss him. I would have run him over with a bulldoser if he tried that on me! Plus, Bella wasn't ready 4 another relationship just yet, so when he forced 2 kiss him, not even letting her get away, that was wrong. Edward would have let go of her immediantly if she pushed him away. He would have kept his distance and not push her. But Jacob just wouldn't let go of her! I was so mad when Charlie didn't mind Jacob forcing Bella 2 kiss him! I am getting so mad at just remembering it!
Though I liked that she punched him. :D

LOL Caroline! Heck yeah I would keep hitting Jacob! If he just forced me 2 kiss him like that, but if he just kissed me not forced, I would still hit him!!! But I would use somthing like a huge rock, run a car over him no, with a MONSTOUR TRUCK! A huge gigantic Monstour Truck!

U c, kissing Jacob would b like kissing a dumpster, because Jacob is a piece of trash, so it would b equal 2 kiss a dumpster. But the only difference is that would u rather kiss a Trash of a being or just trash?I thought it was funny, but I wrote it so......
I still don't get it. XD? But I wouldn't choose the dumpster...like ew? I wouldn't choose the marble statue either, because they would be weird...like kissing a rock.

Hey, I have a thing about Jasper, I was just thinking how unfair it was to his character through out the series. I mean look, the stories are mainly from Bella's point of view and for the first 3 1/2 books Jasper is trying really hard not to kill her and as for the last 1/2 of BD he is trying to keep Bella from killing anyone so as a result we never get to see his true potential as person because of the fact he is so tense all the time. I just always thought that unfair.
Well, thats his charcter. And we see how he really is in Eclipse. He tells us that he was 18 when he signed up for the military, passing as a 20 year old becuase he was a good hieght for his age and he tells us all about himself. But I see your piont
Jasper can't resist because almost his whole 'life' as a vampire, he has drunk human blood. Don't contradict him for it. It's like living on meat your whole life, than going vegan while looking at a steak. What would you do? You'd try to go for the steak.

i agree!i wish that you got to see more of his character, and to actually get to know him as a friend instead of just read about him as the tense guy.

haha. Yeah, I've always loved guys with Accents and Jasper is defiantly swoon worthy.
Jasper is less able to resist b/c he drank human blood for so long, and hasn't smelled it in such close proximity for a long time. Even at school, if soeone got hurt, he would be farther away. In the house, there is no escapng the scent of Bella's blood. You wrote defiantly Laney!
Well he can't really resist, because he's the newest vegetarian to the family. He Tries so hard to restrain himself from Bella when she gets cut, except in New moon, he just attacks her.
yeah and he was basically raised to be ahunter and devour blood. Jaspers vampire upbringing was the most savage of any of the others so I can see why it would take him ALOT longer to get to the point where blood doesnt arouse his vampire instinct so much!
Think of it this way. You are in your 40's and you become a vegetarian. For any of us who aren't one already it would be very difficult. This is mainly a problem for Jasper because he is accustomed to drinking human blood and now he can only have animal blood. I am sure the temptation is much stronger for Jasper than it would be for a vampire who has only had animal blood and has learned no other way.

LOl! I think its because the high schoolers probably werent bleeding! If their blood was out then they would've been goners, but Bella has a REALLY strong scent when he blood is in her body, even more so when shes bleeding
