Dominus~ Hmmm...I don't think so. It's more different but on the first book, they're together (view spoiler) Just like twilight

but I think Fallen series by Lauren Kate is MORE OF THE SAME with HUSH HUSH because at Fallen, it took time before the girl found out about the boy (view spoiler)

Hi what did you think of Fallen ?

Dominus~ I really liked Fallen but it's kinda THE USUAL ROMANCE thing and I'M A HUGE BIG FAN of CAM. I'm not really into Daniel though, I found him boring but still...he's cool.

Hi i really wanted to like Fallen but i hated the idea she was in a reform school and the plot seemed endless .Have you read hush hush ?

Dominus~ I think the idea of her being in a reform school is COOL anyway, she didn't do anything wrong in the first place so she doesn't deserve to be there. I've read Hush, Hush and I admit it's cool!

Hi i glad you liked Fallen i was actually drawn more to that at first than Hush Hush but the reform bit just made me put it down i mean i felt really bad for her because as you said she didnt do it .What was the presence she kept feeling around her ? i didnt get that far .Have you read Crescendo or are you going to ?

Dominus~ Night wrote: "Hi i glad you liked Fallen i was actually drawn more to that at first than Hush Hush but the reform bit ..."

THE PRESENCE around her is A SECRET so you'll have to read it. I'm sure you met Cam on the way to reading it and I TOTALLY LOVE HIM THOUGH something unexpected happen. :DD Anyway, I already read Crescendo and it's COOL. NEW CHARACTER and so many twists and more.

Marien Dore That is exactly how I would describe it. There are different plots involved but over all, that's it.

Katharina I read Twilight way before I read Hush, Hush and I think that if you read the back of the first book in Hush, Hush after reading Twilight (like i did) you would just think it is a copy. But I actually disagree with the fact that the are similar. I feel like there is more badass in Patch than Edward and way more effort to put into the relationship they have in Hush, Hush than in Twilight.

message 64: by [deleted user] (new)

No. Twilight is boring. Hush, Hush is way more exciting in my opinion. Thought yes, in crescendo it kind of starts to look like twilight. I haven't finished Crescendo yet, I have bearly start to read it... but it seems kind of boring...

Monisa Ahmed 3 WORDS.......UMMMMM......'YES IT IS'!

Azhia There simimlar but all these forbidden romance novels are *shurgs* i love them both though

Nightmagic Magic Not at all .Patch is alot more sinister than Edward and Nora is left guessing alot longer on what patch is .Edward doesnt want to kill Bella and Nora has a best friend .i really found there was no similarity and i loved Hush Hush from page one .

S.L.J. I've seen lots of reviews that say the same thing. Example:

One, the two male characters are immortal. Edward in Twilight is a vampire who is almost a century old while Patch in Hush, Hush is a fallen angel. They are both mysterious and were described as (extremely!) good looking and (extremely!) attractive.

Two, the female characters (Bella for Twilight and Nora for Hush, Hush) are mortals and they are the ones who are always in danger in the books. Both of them are also intelligent and noticed right away that there was something strange with the male characters.

Three, they are all teen-agers (or Edward and Patch make it appear that they are teen-agers). Edward and Bella go to the same school and so does Patch and Nora. They are partners in their biology class.

Fourth, the antagonists are also immortals. James (Twilight) is also a vampire while Jules or Chauncey (Hush, Hush) is half angel, half human. And they are after Bella and Nora, respectively, because of their association with Edward and Patch. James went after Bella because he was challenged by the fact that Edward was protecting Bella. On the other hand, Jules went after Nora because he knew that Patch was interested in her.

Lastly, the main characters ended up falling in love with each other (duh!).

I'm gonna have to agree.

Some I agree on, others I'm not too sure. Things have changed as the book progressed, like e.g: Bella is a mortal but, in Silence that was no longer the case for Nora.

message 71: by Lynn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lynn i actually think that is was so much better. there was definitely more action. i do have to say that when i read that he could read and speak in her mind, then i sighed because he could do that in twilight too but just not to bella. crappers, hey but hush, hush, is better. come on, fallen angels? sucks that any kid would be nephil

Trinity It is a coincidence of the features in the plot such as the biology partners, but there isn't anything similar to the plot of the story between the two books. Besides there's way more acion in this book than Twighlight. To be honest never read the book Twighlight and not planning to, only seen the movie (yeah I know books are different from the movie, but hey some movies are close it) but just from watching it, you can tell there are no similarites to the plot.

message 73: by Taylor (last edited Nov 07, 2011 04:15PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Taylor I disagree that Twilight is the same as Hush Hush. First lets take the main characters. Edward: Tortured soul who is always at war with himself and trys to be a good person..."I have no soul...I don't want to take yours waaaa" Patch: Patch knows he's bad and he's not completely changed by the end of it. He will always be the boy your mother warned you about. He accepts what he's done and doesn't complain about it. And he knows he'll do bad things again and doesn't deny it. In that way he's kinda human. Bella: No personality except for clinginess and going catatonic...seriously who does that when someone breaks up with them?? Clumsy and would never break up with her oh so perfect love. Nora did. Nora: More independent. Knows what she has to do to get things done. ANd i'll admit a bit too nosy for her own good. The plot...yes they are both pulled into a dangerous situation. But Nora's has to do with her past also and not just a random meeting with a supernatural creature.

Bulma Books Taylor wrote: "I disagree that Twilight is the same as Twilight. First lets take the main characters. Edward: Tortured soul who is always at war with himself and trys to be a good person..."I have no soul...I don..."

You got Patch down perfectly!!!!

PostCardashian Kim I think hush hush is slightly different, cos Patch is more hostile to Nora. In Twilight edward loves bella she loves him, even though they might not say it, you know it.
But Patch is nastier to Nora than edward is to Bella, and she's more scared of him.
Lot's of stories go along this pattern, tho. I think its okay. it works really good. I'm reading Song to Wake to (Levels) by J.D. Field and at first it seems to be going along the same tracks. Apart from its not vampires or angels. And I like that I thought I knew it, but then it changed.

Lynn haribo :D wrote: "i disagree because i think both books have potential and have both been able to grab my attention. i must say that hush hush did involve the element of surprise and thriller :D"

i agree plus it had a lot more action than twilight put together as well. and patch just seems cuter too.

Keona Chandler to me i feel that the hush, hush series is closer to the mortal instrument series than twilight i couldn't find much in common. but that's just my opinion.

message 78: by Ann (new) - rated it 3 stars

Ann Landiza Hush, Hush is way better than Twilight. Nuff' said!

message 79: by Hanaa (last edited Nov 14, 2011 12:02PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hanaa Mansouri yeah!!! its so similar!!!!

Arushi though i've actually heard that many people find similarities between twilight and hush hush, i think that twilight is too bad to even compare. hush hush is out of twilight's league.

i completely disagree. plus patch is much hotter, sexier, more romantic, sweeter, and multi-dimensional than edward.

twilight just fell flat for me.

any twilight haters or people who think twilight is dumb? watch the youtube videos of "alex reads twilight" theyre HILARIOUS. its only 16 videos, but he goes thru the whole book chapter by chapter, dising it along the way. its truly amazing and worth your time :D

S.L.J. A normal but not normal girl falls in love with an amazingly sexy supernatural being that treats her like crap to begin with but eventually warms up and falls in love with her.

Which series am I describing? Hush, Hush or Twilight?

message 82: by Natalie (last edited Nov 14, 2011 06:29PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Natalie I wish I had examples, but certain moments in the book I was was having a dejavu of twilight. There are only moments of these similarities though. Two seperate works here.

The fact that we are calling to attention if there are similarities will induce people to find similarities.

Larissa Hinton I really think they are similar in some aspects like the whole science partner thing and the fatal attraction thing, but other then that, I don't think they are similar. Like J.B. said: No two romances are ever the same.

message 86: by John (new) - rated it 3 stars

John Morgan there have a freakish amount of similarity but, yes but, so does allot of teenage angst books bout love.

Valerie At first glance no, but now I really kind of have to agree..........

message 88: by Matt (new) - rated it 5 stars

Matt I thought that the biology class aspect was too much the same. Other then that it was pretty original. Well as original as teen fiction can get.

Lorena Frias haribo :D wrote: "i too agree that authors make girls especially teenage girls look vunerable and desperate. I think in this modern day and age why cant they make a boy vunerable?!"

NOW that would be something, i would love to read a book where the tables are turned.

Kadie D♥ I love both stories.
And good romantic stories are always a bit the same, not that I mind I love them anyway.
The biggest difference between the two stories do is the writing style, Becca writes way different than Stephenie does.
I haven't read silence yet, it is said to be the best of the series until now, but I'm going to buy it next year together with the fourth. I really want to read it though :(

Vampire Academy ;) I'm not into that vampire-hype, but this series was actually good :)

Sema haribo :D wrote: "Not being funny or anything yeah but the plot of this book actually made me lol because it was freakishly similar, please tell me your views and dont worry if you disagree :D"

I agree, I only read the first Hush Hush, and so far, there is this guy who is actually evil but not (?), like edward who is supposed to be a bloodsucking monster but isn't (?). They fall for their victim, who happens to be one of a kind and superinnocent. They are sooo in love but it is a bit forbidden and stuff. I see your point ;)I had the same feeling

message 94: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin No. Everyone is like "It's a copy of Twilght!" The only similar thing is they are biology partners. That's it.

Antoinette Nope, unlike Twilight I LOVED these books!

S.L.J. Just think, if this had come out first, we would have to deal with the Twilight movies. :P

message 97: by Shaelin (new) - added it

Shaelin Bishop Yes I know! The plot followed twilight's plot very closely! There were even little similarities(like bella/nora being a lab partner in biology with edward/patch) Although, Hush, Hush is so much better than twilight!

message 98: by Mazz (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mazz Nixon A couple similarities, a lab partner, but I'm sure there were books like that before twilight lol, I think this book is great in its own rights and it shouldn't really be compared to a completely different series.

message 99: by nine (new) - rated it 5 stars

nine I dont think their at all alike other than nora and patch being biology partners.

message 100: by Alexa (last edited Dec 22, 2011 03:45PM) (new) - rated it 2 stars

Alexa This was what I thought through the entire book. I'll admit I don't hate Twilight and all, but it's not one of my favorites, whereas Hush, Hush is. It has a lot of similarities (let alone the amount of books in the series - four!), but I think that Patch and Nora's romance is just better written and more logical. Of course, it's just as nonsensical to date a fallen angel than it is to date a vampire, but in this series, it's not in a ... creepy way. I mean, Edward watched Bella sleep and kind of stalked her. Of course, now you could say "But Patch did that too!" Yeah, he wanted to kill Nora and he's not an idiot, meaning he wanted to get to know his victim, wanted know when's the best chance to attack. Edward has a creepy sense of protection over Bella, like he's claiming her and stuff though he barely knows her. At the end of Silence, Patch has that complex too, but he knew Nora for about five months then. Patch and Nora's love seems more rational, if I may say so. I'll give it that Nora really did feel a strong attraction to Patch at first, but I think everyone is attracted to a potential partner at first sight IF they spot one. It's natural that your body or mind tells you you're interested.

All in all, yes I do think it's totally like Twilight - just better and more realistic.
