Thanks for no pictures.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I absolutely LOVE the clip of Rep. Maxine Waters, D. California, shouting that "the tea Party can go STRAIGHT to HELL!"

I was looking at a longer piece on Yahoo news about members of the congressional Black Caucus accusing the tea party of racism and I thought to myself, well, YEAH.

They can't be racist and love Herman Cain at the same time, can they?

message 205: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Yes they can! Because Herman doesn't want any Muslims in his inner circle. Even black tea party folks can be racist.

Well, okay. But it seems like many liberals are arguing that the Teaps are racist because they hate Obama, while ignoring that many of the same people love Herman Cain. I will exclude you from this group of arguers.

message 207: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Thank you for excluding me, LG. I don't think those people REALLY love Mr. Cain. They are similar to the people that told me in Mississippi, we love blacks as individuals (my Maid Sukie, why she's like Family! Bless her heart!) but hate blacks as a race.

Cyril This is one of the funniest goodreads profiles I have seen. Note the number of books listed.

I kid, I kid.

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Phil, how much time did you spend looking at that girl's photos??

I'm in a similar position. I've been offered a voluntary redundancy, and have until the 25th to decide. I'm a public servant but doing something I love - working with Indigenous people & programs. Ideally, I could find a job outside the public service, in an Indigenous community organisation, but paying the same amount (that will NEVER happen!) and then take both the payout and a new job. Worst case scenario, I say no and can't find a job within the next 7 months, and they sack me with no payout.

On a different note, I just looked up and noticed that the thread changed to be about penis holders.

I think I love this group :)

I checked the profile for maybe 11 seconds, then came back here & joked about Larry. Why?

Félix (habitseven) What?

She posted some pretty hot photos of herself, Phil.

message 215: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments I just went back and looked. Waaaay too young to get my motor revving, and too umm... wanton for me.

She would have been fun for 22 year old me, though.

message 216: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Wanton is a good way to put it.

If I had a private chef, I would ask him or her to prepare me lots and lots of different varieties of pot pies. I would like to try them all.

message 218: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Won ton.

Noodles?

message 220: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Indeed, Gail of Sydney. Noodles.

I don't know, $59 seems a lot to pay for a pair of slippers.

message 224: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments RA would pay it, if Ann Hathaway were standing in the slippers.

Don't go to the Wiki alkaloids page, unless you are into cyclopia. Holy moly.

The cyclopia page is also sad.

I sliced my finger cleaning the kitchen. That'll teach me to clean. Especially lame places like the strip of wall between the top of the oven and the bottom of the microwave.

message 227: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Slicing fingers is usually my specialty.

message 228: by Youndyc (new)

Youndyc | 1255 comments I cut my knuckle this weekend somehow. I didn't notice it until I start bleeding on the piece of fish I was trying to prep to cook. Had to start all over with the fish.

And the cut on my knuckle is really small. Cannot believe it bled so profusely.

message 229: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That's a long ass walk in flippers.

message 230: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Youndy couldn't you just wash the fish off?

message 231: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments I can barely walk to the mailbox in flip flops any more. My podiatrist has banned them from my wardrobe.

message 232: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I blew out my flip flop when I stepped on a pop top.

message 233: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Nibblin' on sponge cake,
watchin' the sun bake;
All of those tourists covered with oil.
Strummin' my six string on my front porch swing.
Smell those shrimp
They're beginnin' to boil.

Youndyc | 1255 comments Larry wrote: "Youndy couldn't you just wash the fish off?"

Yep, that's what I did. That's what I meant by start over. I had already marinated and spiced, so I had to do that part again.

Mine too!!! I fractured my foot in several places this year and it's SO SLOW to heal. But I think flip flops are gone from my life. Perhaps heels, too, but I'm going down fighting!

message 246: by Carol (new)

Carol | 1678 comments Aww, Barb! Take it easy.

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments Getting teeth pulled is a bitch!!! Hope you feel better soon, Barb. Just chew with your front teeth rather than your molars. I know, not the easiest feat. I've done it. May I be so nosey as to ask why they did not take all four of them?

message 248: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) My bottom ones were a nightmare to have out. They almost broke my jaw prying one of them out in two pieces.

message 249: by ~Geektastic~ (new)

~Geektastic~ (atroskity) | 3205 comments My most frequent nightmares involve my teeth being pulled and/or falling out. I need to have my bottom ones out, but I can't bring myself to do it. You're not helping Larry.
