Barb, nice work with the paint, and your daughter is adorable. Can you ship her to me next winter when it's time for me to paint?
Once I was moving into a new office and the manager decided it should be painted pink. "Oh, it will be a nice soft shade of pink." HA. It was Pepto-Bismal Pink. To make matters worse, the office was only big enough to fit a desk and one file cabinet. I couldn't stand it and demanded it be painted a better shade. It twas better when they repainted it, but it was still pink. PINK. Not the most professional of colors. Or a color that you would want to have your office painted if you wanted to be taken seriously.
This is very random, but I just found out today that the Lego Harry Potter years 5-7 video game is coming out in November. I'm very excited, I love the first one (although I still haven't beaten it).
Ok, I wasn't really sure where else to post this, but I'm very excited and had to put it somewhere: I have a job interview tomorrow!!! I know I should stay calm since it's just an interview, but the prospect of leaving this place has me all giddy.
Interview went well. If they like me, I'll have a follow-up on Monday. Their office is so close to my house I could walk to work!

That's what happened to me this afternoon. Lucky for me I didn't lock the door properly and the guy from the DIY around the corner helped me break in with some wire before installing a new lock.

That first picture looked like it was out of some futuristic novel about an antiseptic joy joy society.
Ugh. Since this is the "random" thread, I figured that this was the right place to vent. I hate when you're playing games on threads, like "Have You Read...", and people don't play! The thread is NOT for posting "[insert quote here] OMG, blah blah...". Either you continue the string of posts, or you go away.*Sigh*.
Larry wrote: "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Kerr..."Very cool Larry! It is OK to bike on the bridge, or is it restricted to walking/running?
Bikes are allowed! No skateboards or motorized vehicles.Right now, though, the gate on the Iowa side is closed due to the flooding of the river. So you can't legally get to the trails on the Iowa side.
Falls Park on the Reedy River in Greenville, SC, has a somewhat similar but smaller curved pedestrian bridge. It's nice in that it gives you an elevated and unobstructed view of the falls, but it means you have to walk further when crossing.
Follow-up interview today went pretty well, although I was more nervous this time around. I like the idea of the job being close to home and the company doing similar work to what I'm doing now, but they are going to be very, very demanding and I don't know how much interest I can maintain in recruiting staff for financial companies. Lots to consider this week while waiting for their answer! If only I could find a job close to home that had more to do with my interests, but the market sucks and my town is really small.
Great that they called you back for a follow-up, Amber, even though it might be a tough choice if they offer you the job. Hope you can sort out all the pros and cons. Good luck!
Finally feeling better after the pancreatitis then the cold that set in before I was completely well. Been a busy bee today trying to catch up on all the household chores that I neglected last week. Still alot to do but I'm content. I've gotten quite a bit of it done and I still feel fine. Woo Hoo!! Funny to be excited to feel good enough to do chores rather than using any excuse I can find to get out of it.
I participated in a 14km race with my daughter a few weeks ago. My toes nails now rival RA's.
