Don't let PETA catch you doing that.

as long as it is not the black sheep's wool....
Hahaha. No, it's an off white with a hint of green.

That's a sad story on a couple of different levels. It's sometimes a difficult decision to make to determine when panhandlers are cheating or sincere.
It can be a difficult decision. But I have been told so many stories about not having bus money/train money by so many different people in this city they can't all be true. I would be shocked if even 5% of them were true.

A bad thing is pretending to be an abused woman trying to get to a shelter when you really just want some bucks for whatever. I can't stand being lied to or being scammed.

A couple of bucks is a bad thing because they're probably gonna buy more drugs with it.

We've talked about this "lying/alcohol link" before, I recall. Anyone remember that? It seems that the linked to article described ME as a potential addict just because I can/do/like to lie.

I'm with Larry on this one. I have offered odd jobs and/or actual food to people with signs and they refuse. I prefer to give to charities like Step 13 that have an actual record of success or give to a women's shelter directly.

My kitchen is now painted and it looks gooood.
Well I could take a photo but I won't be home during day light for 2 weeks. By then you will have forgotten.

Someone suggested that I outsource my bookkeeping. He said I could probably get a certified accountant in India to be my virtual assistant and pay next to nothing. I rejected that idea rather quickly. It seems degrading. I don't want to take advantage of someone's skills in that manner. When I questioned him about the logistics, he simply said "over the internet" which tells me he has no idea what's all involved.
I do know a woman who lives and works here but her accountant is in Vancouver. They courier the paperwork back and forth.

My in-laws have the same dining set! Falling off of those chairs is not fun.
Neat, Barb. I like the way the cranberry red mixer plays off the wall color. Your daughter is very cute with her pigtails. What's that dining room color?

Remonstrant Taupe is a nice change of pace.

Two-Seed-in-the-Spirit Predestinarian Baptist Vermilion I believe is actually the name of Barb's nail polish.

That is cool, Larry.

Looks more like Tridentine Traditionalist Red to me.
I said, "That's okay."
She says, "I'm here with my son" - nods in the direction of a 20ish man - "and" - she leans in very close to me - "I've been abused. I need to go to a woman's shelter. No, no, I already know where it is, I just need some...see my hand?" I look down at her hand, which might be a little puffy but otherwise looks normal. She gestures secretively toward her son. I didn't give her any money.
