Just a little update, it turns out my husband had a motive to clean the house... he and his sister (my sister in law) organised a surprise party with all our family and some friends and he secretly arranged for my sister to drive down (9 hrβs drive) to be there and they are staying for a couple of days!
So, I got a clean house, a party, and my sister and kids visiting! Best birthday ever!!!
