If you know of a fun or original author contest to enter please let everyone else know too :D

Emily Bryan has a great one about pirates where you had to come up with a pirate name to win her books. The top 10 finalists have been chosen and you can vote for the one you like best and be entered to win a whole bunch of her books.

Here's the link if anyone wants to check out the names:
http://www.emilybryan.com/Pirate%20Na...

(scroll to the bottom for the whole list).

Personally I like these kinds of contests way better instead of the not so original "read the excerpt to find out who said what and enter your answer". Hope there are some more creative authors out there ;)

Kathrynn I'm tooting your horn again!

East's pirate name (Greydon Quinn, The Wraith of St. Jude) made the top 10 finalists. People have until November 4th to vote and the winner will receive backlist books from the author.

Way to go, East!

Tammy (tammymerlot) | 90 comments Now that's what I call a prize package! Congrats!!

I've read Summer at Willow Lake. I really liked it and have the rest of the series in my TBR pile, plus a few others by Susan Wiggs. I think you'll like it since we have similar tastes.

The Mary Balogh's are on my list of books to buy. She seems to get very good reviews.

I don't know anything about the others.

GOOD LUCK! =)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Great going East!!!!! I'm too happy for u to be jealous.. ok I'm a little jealous :)

message 13: by new_user (new)

new_user Wow, East, that certainly is a haul! Yikes! LOL. Congrats! You have some great reads there. I agree with Tammy, you can't go wrong with Susan Wiggs, although she writes about ordinary, modern people, which is quite a departure for us paranormal or historical fans, LOL. Still, she's got a grasp of very human concerns anyone can relate to.
