Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Yeah, having it part of the plot does make sense. Those covers must look silly if they didn't correlate with the plotline.

Rachel | 175 comments I think that if you like the Study Series, you will really like the Green Rider series by Kristen Britain. Strong Female characters AND an awesome horse! :)

message 103: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I absolutely LOVE Kristen Britain's Green Rider series! I thought that would be a standalone novel as well, and was suprised when I found the second book two or three years later for $5 bucks (almost brand new Hardcover) in a used book store.

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 180 comments You guys keep this up and I'm spending the rest of the year curled up reading! :)

message 105: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments As we all should be doing Gisela. Especially me with my 300 and some to-read books.

Rachel | 175 comments Kristen- Yay! I'm glad to find another Green Rider series fan! That's awesome that you found the hardcover for $5 at a used book store! I love used book stores- you never know what you'll find!
Gisela- you betcha! What else would you rather be doing?! :D

message 107: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I know! I was totally amazed! I didn't even know it was a series. I nearly screamed and ran down to buy it right then. I browsed a bit more, but couldn't believe the find. Although bad me again - when the third book came out, I reread the first one, but got busy and didn't reread the whole second one.. so I still haven't read the third... I'm a horrible person aren't I?

message 108: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 175 comments Ah! You haven't read the third one?! Well, its actually not that bad lol I don't like the third one as much as the first two. First off, one of the characters reminded me of Tom Bombadil from the Fellowship of the Ring, which irritated me instantly. It's not that I don't like Tom, its more of a lack of creativity on Kristen's part.
But anyways, I would still read it. However, it's not like you are in a rush because who knows how long it will take her to finish the 4th book... :[

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments I would also say that the White Magic Trilogy by Caitlin Brennan is very good the first is The Mountains Call.

message 110: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Kristen Britain takes a few good years to finish her books. Is she working on a fourth? I'll have to check out that trilogy too Meme! Thanks for the suggestion!

message 111: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments Yes I Have read them many times and I am just waiting for the next if there is to be a next, What is have you read lately

message 112: by Gisela (new)

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 180 comments Rachel, I have a baby boy that needs time, but luckily he likes naps which mean reading time for mommy!

message 113: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments yes you have to love nap time, I also like to read after the kids go to bed :) but I have more than one kid here so they keep each other occupied yeaaaaa!!!! LOL that gives me a little bit more time when they are not destroying the house.

message 114: by missART (new)

missART | 71 comments I just finished reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore and second (or third?) it as a must read! :)

message 115: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I will have to read it soon then! Gah!

message 116: by missART (new)

missART | 71 comments I just happened to pick it up off a book cart that was going out to the floor. Thought it looked interesting. Glad I brought it home. :)

message 117: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I've had it on my to-read list for a few months, so I should probably hunt it down at a library (after I finish some other books...).

Well, i would definitely recommend the Pellinor Series by Alison Croggon. It's fantastic, just as good as the Study series. It's also fantasy, romance, adventure, action! Anyway, READ IT!
