Jack walked stiffly into the library, annoyed at the bandages around his legs, but still excited. Smiling at all the books. He'd just learn how to read last week.
Dove was sitting in a window seat, her book propped up on her knees as she read, the sun shining on her pleasantly.
Jack quickly grabbed books about dreams, time travel, memory loss, and treating wounds. He plopped down in a seat near the window and started to read.
Dove heard the sound of pages being turned. Her mouth tugged up into a small smile as she looked over to see who it was. She saw Jack and was surprised- in her experiance, guys who looked like him didn't read. This though made her blush a bit, and she turned away, not wanting to disturb him. She looked back at her book but wasn't really reading.

Jack loved reading. So much information and knowledge resting safely between the covers of books. That was the one thing he was sure about that he liked before... well whatever had happened. That was the one thing he just couldnt figure out. His past. And it bothered him. He thought this as he read in-humanly fast; reading full pages in the blink of an eye.

Dove couldn't help glancing at him again. Her eyes went wide, her moth dropping into a small 'o' as she saw how fast he read. "Wow," she said quietly, not realizing she said it out loud.

Jack's finger rested in the middle of the page. He looked over at Dove, suddenly feeling self-conscious of the slashes on his neck. "Hmm?"
"It's just, you read really fast," Dove said, slipping her bookmark in and setting the novel down. She swung her legs over and hopped down. "It's amazing." She hadn't really noticed the cuts- not that she was unobservant, she had just been too focussed on other things. ((wink wink))

Jack smiled slightly. "You're normal. I guess reading fast is one of my 'abilities'." he made air-quotes. "I'll add that to the list of nonsense." he said, glaring at the books.
"What does that mean?" Dove asked, frowning slightly. She sat down in a chair across from him, her skirt floating down slowly.
Jack shrugged. "I dont remember anything..." he said distantly, "I dont know what I am exactly. Or who."
