the cast sucks big time!!! i mean seriously, the Hanna girl for melanie!!! no way!!! nd the characters playing jared and ian are also way too old... highly disappointed!!!!
I agree to those saying the casting is off. I love the book so much, much than Twilight Saga I think, but the cast does not fit. The persons playing Ian and Jared, for me, are opposite. I don't really know, but when I saw the pictures thats what came up in my head.
I always imagined Jared as Jared Leto, despite what the book said. My soundtrack for the book was 30 Seconds To Mars ><
I loved this book and i think they chose the cast pretty well! The boys could be someone else but i reall like who they picked for wanderer! Sheis a great actor. Overall though when you see the movie the actors will grow on you so its not a big deal!
Ok! I just looked at the cast and it officially SUCKS!!!!!! They need different people. They should have used someone like Megan Fox or Jennifer Lawrence or something for Melanie.

I think Saoirse Ronan as Melanie is not bad at all.. She is kinda young tough. But she is a great actress :)
The Host's official trailer is out, check it out on Youtube!!! I didn't really like it but at least it gives u a clue!
Doesn't anyone know what POST PRODUCTION means, it means the acting is already done and they are editing it

thats just what I mean at least it gives u a clue. i really wanted the real girl to play Wanda like the girl whose eye is on the cover, but then I thought that girl wouldn't be knowing how to act!!
I have to agree...the cast SUX big time! I can live with Melanie though she is nothing like is described in the book but the Jared and Ian...so disappointed. :(

OH MI GOD, I'm crying with JOY!! Even if the cast isn't that good ... Anyway, first of all, Melanie ... Saoirse Ronan as her? Well, I heard she is a very good actor, The Lovely Bones! If she is a good actor, no problem. Her looks are just average, even though Stephanie Meyer described her as gorgeous looking but she's okay! Boyd Holbrook is too skinny and old for Kyle! I mean, isn't Kyle suppose to be bad, bad-boy? He was evil, for god sake! His looks aren't to good either! I don't like Kyle's cast but not like he's the main character, right?
Jake Abel at Ian is pretty good. His looks are awesome! He is a bit old but he is suppose to be around Jared's age, right?! Anyway, he's hot and notice how he was in Lovely Bones too (with Saoirse Ronan)! Wootwoot. I love Ian! <3http://www.imdb.com/media/rm279993318... << HOT & CUTE

JAMIE, HELL YES. Though he is very young. LoL, he's just about my age! Though, I have to say, he doesn't look that tough..I don't know his height, too. He doesn't look like a teen that can punch Jared's nose...Whatever...
Anyway, Stephanie Meyer DID choose them. So, no objections! I mean, look at Twilight's cast! They are great actors(Ashley Green, Alice)! Can't wait!

OMG ! I COULDN'T AGREE MORE ! i'm not only disappointed of the people they chose to act Melanie , Jared , Jamie , Doc and Kyle ! BUT OMG ! I love the Host, and I hate to say it, but I think the movie will probably be a big letdown for me. Most of the actors don't even look like the characters are supposed to look like. And then, there's the chick who's playing the seeker, which annoys me the most. She's tall, has long blond hair, and in the stills I've seen from the movie, never wearing black. I think the seeker being short, wearing black, and having short black hair was a big thing for her character.And, I've been looking all over the internet to see how they are going to seperate Wanda's thoughts from Melanie's and what I've seen... Is so wrong. They're going to give Melanie a southern accent!!! SOOOO wrong! She's from New Mexico, and lived in Los Angeles. Where'd this southern accent come from?
GAH. I was hoping they'd have Wanda speek in a quieter, kind of nicer tone. Then they could have Melanie speaking in a loud, harsher voice. Anything but the accent. It makes no sense.

I'd rather if they dnt turn the novel into a movie than seeing a disappointing movie!
I for one love the cast. Saiorse is a great actress, and tho I would've liked someone a little older, I'm sure she'll do great. The only one I'm kind of disappointed about is Ian, and that's probably because my fangirl heart is upset they didn't cast the gorgeous Ian Somerhalder. But I guess it could be worse than the also very attractive Jake Abel. What I'm mostly concerned about is how the storyline goes. In the Twilight movies everything was so quick and confusing :/ And I wonder who played Wanda/Pet.

The Host is such a long book, I don't know how they're going to cut it into a couple hours. They're going to have to leave a lot out.
I've seen pictures of the people they're considering for the Wanda/Pet role (don't remember the names),and they looked perfect. They all had blonde hair and grey eyes. I don't know about their talent, but they had the looks down.

this was a really good book, I hope they don't screw the movie up, like they did with Twilight. I don't like this cast just like i didn;t like the cast for Twilight...But hey, I guess you can't please everyone...

Oh my gosh!!!! I didn't know that this was already being made into a movie! But I love the book, way, way better than Twilight. It's a good thing that Steph made something different. My favorite character would be Ian, and I don't even know the casting yet. Maybe i should check it out.
The cast has been finalised and, yeah, Saiorse Ronan plays Mel, Jake Abel plays Ian and Max Irons, Jared. I guess we'll have to go see the movie to find out if they sucked or did a great job!I just hope they don't ruin that fabulous book.And Jake had better be good because I absolutely adore Ian O'Shea!

Honestly? I am not excited at all to see this movie. I loved the book and how much you get to watch Melanie and Wanda grow/adapt, but I can't see them being able to portray that complex of a relationship without it being cheesy. I have no idea who the cast is, but I know that no matter what this will probably be a letdown for me.
I liked the book, but I'm iffy about the movie. The cast seems off...either not what I pictured...or they look too old or not old enough...Guess I have to wait 'til I see a different trailer for it.
ok, i think most of the casting was okay, but who i really hated was was whos playing jared and ian. i mean, max irons? he looks completely wrong
I loved The Host soooo much!!! but i haven't seen who is playing who. i really hope that the movie dosen't disapoint me. have any of you seen the percy jackson move? terrible! i'm hoping that it won't let me down like the lightning thief did.

I think the casting looks great! Max Irons is definately how i pictured Jared and Sairose Ronan (Sorry if i spelt that wrong!) looks just like Melanie! Need i say anything about Jake Abel? ;)
I completely agree that the cast is ugh! I heard about it ages ago and couldn't believe how awful the casting was! None of them are anything like i thought they should be when i read the book. I'll go see the film just to see what they actually do with it but cant see that i'll be buuying it. xxx

jared is max irons...im totally excited because i love stephanie meyer so much! this is one of my favourtie books,omdz was sooo happy when i found this out!

I don't know if any of these actors are going to do justice to the novel but I'll definitely go see the movie when it comes out. After that I'll offer my opinions on their skills. Till then, I'll just hope for the best.
