I read all of Acheron, but the first half was heartbreaking. It did give a different view on what made him the way he is.

Jill If you like Diana Gabaldons outlander series you might also like Sara Donatis Into the wilderness series Into the Wilderness (Wilderness, #1) by Sara Donati . I love both of these, and actually found that I have re read Sara Donatis more. Her characters are amazing.

I don't think these two books should be put together, people might actually think 50 shades is good..

Sylvain Reynard is exceedingly better than that lady author at everything, especially at writing! Gabriel's story and obsessions do not even come close to being compared to an inch in that other dude's body or brain! They're different as night and day, oil and water! People who hated 50 shades should read Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard and Gabriel's Rapture by Sylvain Reynard because they are NOTHING like 50 shades. Sylvain Reynard and his books are much better!

Some of the Carpathian books you'll lose the surprise if read out of order, but many of the real early ones prob not.

I agree. I was hesitant to read Gabriel's Inferno because it was being compared to 50 Shades. But besides the controlling messed up hero they are not alike at all.

Reading 50 feels like you are reading something written by a horny 16 years old. Were as when reading Gabriel's Inferno you know you are reading something by a professional.

Casey Marcotte (goosemoosesnowpeas) | 1 comments I LOVE everything Kristen Ashley, one my faves being Knight. Any recommendations?

message 120: by JennyWren (new)

JennyWren (guinivere87) | 6 comments Ok, here it goes. If you like Knight you'd like Slave To Love. The hero is very intense. As intense as any of KA's heroes. And while unlike Knight he might work for the law he's a very dark character. Don't be put off by the cover :-)

I was wondering that, too! I don't know of any books, but the tv show Sons of Anarchy is about bikers. Deeelicious!!

Tammy | 395 comments I love Sons of Anarchy too!! That's pretty much what I'm looking for, but in a book--and with romance :)

This is on listopia, but I've read a lot of the top picks and barely remember a motorcycle in most of them. But it's a start, maybe.

I'd like to see how they'll pull that off. LOL. There was def some X rated stuff going on.

CaroleDee Jennifer wrote: "Is the love interest in the Dark Swan series slow building like Mac and Barrons? Or is there more smexing earlier on ;-)?"

Love inserestS (yep there's 2) But back to the question.. hmm.. she's is more quick to jump into bed that Mac was, but she's not a mega ho like Meredith in the Meredith Gentry series LOL

Although, The Gentry series is also a good one to read if you're looking for something similar to the Fever series.

A Kiss of Shadows (Meredith Gentry, #1) by Laurell K. Hamilton

message 132: by JennyWren (new)

JennyWren (guinivere87) | 6 comments I tried the Meredith Gentry Series but somehow never got past book two or so. But I'll deinietely be reading Dark Swan. Thanks!

Sounds good...thanks

message 134: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 39 comments I loved the Merry Gentry Series. I just hope that she comes out with more. Loved the Fever series, one of my favorites but it wasn't to begin with. It was one that took reading all the books one after another for it to work for me.
I haven't tried Dark Swan but have the first book in my TBR pile so I will have to give it a try.
If you like Kristen Ashley (who I totally love) try Lauren Dane the Brown Siblings Series was really good.
Laid Bare (Brown Siblings, #1) by Lauren Dane Coming Undone (Brown Siblings, #2) by Lauren Dane Inside Out (Brown Siblings, #3) by Lauren Dane Never Enough (Brown Siblings, #4) by Lauren Dane
She is starting another series that is from the friends from book number 4. I read the first novella and liked it and have the second on my wishlist for when it comes out in November.
Just starting her Federation Chronciles which is more Sciencfiction Romance and loving it.
But try Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers #1) by Tara Sivec I was laughing so hard at times I was crying.
Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell, #1) by R.L. Mathewson Perfection (A Neighbor from Hell, #2) by R.L. Mathewson Checkmate (A Neighbor from Hell, #3) by R.L. Mathewson
A Humble Heart (Hollywood Hearts, #1) by R.L. Mathewson A Reclusive Heart (Hollywood Hearts, #2) by R.L. Mathewson I really enjoyed them.

I've only read the first two books of the Dark Swan series but I enjoyed them. Like CarolDee said there are two love interests and its not really slow building

message 138: by Jaye (new)

Jaye Shields (jaye_shields) | 7 comments I know this is a great tool for authors to sell books, but I'm so leery of comparing any of my characters. Like, I could say, if you like Kresley Cole's hero Declan Chase from Dreams of a Dark warrior, you'll like my character Lennox Aegros from Confessions of a Sex Demon. They're similar because they're both kinda bad guys/ good guys in the paranormal genre, but I'm such a Kresley Cole fan, I can't help but feel like people will be dissapointed because I bow down to Cole's greatness!!!

If you like BDB you will like Rebecca Zanetti. Her characters and story lines are similar to J.R. Ward. It gets better with each book. The first in the series is
Fated (Dark Protectors, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti .
