Christine Sharbrough (csharbrough) I'm intrigued by the author's use of temperature as the change agent between human and werewolf. Initially, I thought "why don't they move someplace warmer and continue on as humans?" Interesting that there is no "traditional" werewolf lore regarding full moons in this book (at least so far). It's a unique twist that is IMHO refreshingly different from more traditional werewolf stories. Thoughts?

Tina | 6 comments I'm not sure I'm seeing a reason for selecting temperatures as the change agent between chapters. Obviously, the author wants to place us in a certain time frame, but since temperatures in a place like Minnesota can fluctuate rather wildly, I'm not sure that it's that effective.

I think werewolf lore is just that, and recent books have reinterpreted it or called it into question or dismissed it completely. I think that injecting too much of the "lore" for the sake of keeping things "genuine" can get in the way of the story. So I agree that I like this presentation.
