good point Diane. Other than the one book I disliked and can't remember the title of I hadn't realized how much the weather was a character. In the book I am thinking of it rained throughout the book and it was the main reason I didn't like it.

Supposedly when the Secret Forest comes out it will be a trilogy with the main character Ivy Elgin, a character from Velocity. Koontz described her as a walk-on in that novel but said he got a lot of mail about her and that's why he wrote the trilogy.
