R.I.P. Peter Falk

I see that Peter Falk died at the age of 83. He's Columbo to many people. He was quite a character actor and spanned many decades.

Some of my favorite of his films are:
Murder Inc.
Opening Night
The In-Laws
Roomates
Cheap Detective

I agree Philip, I'll take his performance in Wings of Desire over everything else. he was certainly always fun to watch no matter what he chose to do.

I love his Sam Diamond in MURDER BY DEATH -- his effortless absurdity always makes me laugh.

Phillip, you beat me to the punch. When I saw that Peter Falk has passed, my first thought was to come here and post how much I loved him in WINGS OF DESIRE. RIP Mr. Falk.

Although I loved Peter Falk in Murder by Death, my all-time favorite of his roles is the grandfather in The Princess Bride. He will definitely be missed.

Wow. Everyone seems to have a different favorite. This weekend I caught a glimpse of it's a mad mad world and saw him. I love that film and it dawned on me not a lot of those actors--comedians are still around. Dick Shawn was hysterical in the clips I saw. Have to watch it again soon.

that performance somehow brings together some of the elements of many of his other roles - and there's a tenderness that he achieved in that one that i especially liked.

I agree completely and it's a great role for the man himself to be remembered for.
