Camy (camytang) Hi there! I'm new to the group. This summer, I'm reading a lot of Grace Livingston Hill (for some reason I'm on a GLH jag) and also lots of Love Inspired Suspense novels to catch up since I'm a few months behind!

Jennifer (texasaggieteacher) | 70 comments In the middle of the new Karen Kingsbury and then I have to finish Mine is the Night by Liz Curtis Higgs and Julie Klassen's Girl in the Gatehouse and several other books I have stacked in my TBR, most are historical-wars, biblical times, pioneer days

I read a bunch of hers when I was in High School. Some I liked, others I didn't.

Ausjenny | 4 comments Well its winter here and I have been sick the past several weeks so not reading much at all. I am reading She makes it look easy and enjoying it but the past couple days been to sick and tired to read.

Darlene | 74 comments Jennifer, I loved Mine is the Night! Fabulous book! I have a stack of odds and ends that I need to get caught up on. Wisp, Redeeming Love (Can't believe I have never read this!), and some other's I need to read and review for some author friends. Right now I am reading Amanda Stephan's new work to write an endorsement for her cover/or inside cover, where ever her publisher wants it. That won't be out for another 9 months or so.

Darlene | 74 comments Now you have my interest piqued regarding Redeeming Love. I'm going to have to get to that sooner rather than later to find out what is so bad about it! LOL

The reading before book releases is not always a good thing...especially if I don't like the book or find it poorly written. I have stopped volunteering so much. But, because I know Amanda's style, I knew I'd have no problem endorsing her next book :)

I'm going to be re-reading all of Lynn Kurland's books, which I love. Other than that I don't have definite plans :0)

angela (ladyday) Adding Who Is My Shelter by Neta Jackson to my reading list this season.Has anyone read any of her books?

message 11: by Darlene (new)

Darlene | 74 comments Lady Day...love her books. Really fell in love with her writing with her first series, Yada Yada Prayer Group. Have you read those? You might want to read that series first...if you haven't, as they are loosely based off that series.

angela (ladyday) Darlene...thx for the suggestion.I've never read any of her books, but all of them have recv'd great reviews.I wanted so terribly to begin with the Yada Yada Prayer Group but my local county library system doesn't own a copy....what a shame :/! I have another source for used books that Im going to call in the morning. My fingers are crossed in hopes they have a copy.I'll let you know.Btw, I read that her husband writes a male version that's similar to the books that Neta writes. How awesome!

message 13: by Darlene (new)

Darlene | 74 comments Have you read how she started the Yada series? It was her husband's idea. She had no intention of writing a series and look where it went. Those books were awesome. I couldn't read them fast enough! Hopefully you get them.

I didn't know her husband writes too. I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

Lisa (lisalickel) | 15 comments Hi, new people - love to think about winter down under! I'll be wading through my pile of print books trying to whittle them down since I got a Kindle for Christmas and have probably a hundred books on it already. I think I have about thirty pbooks - mysteries I picked up from the Guideposts series (hadn't known there was one); some Michael Crichton, a wad of historicals I've won in contests and a stack of Zane Grey-yum.

Ausjenny | 4 comments Dont worry about thinking about us downunder we are use to being the opposite. I tend to read more in summer than winter.

message 16: by Barbara (new)

Barbara | 11 comments I am trying to challenge myself to read a wide variety of books this summer, so I am alternating between Christian fiction, historical fiction, classics, and non-fiction (usually the autobiography, memoir, or biography genres.)
