Over the last few months, the list of things to do (for the group) is just increasing and am unable to work on it at all. And I just didn't want to stay on as mod when am not even having enough time to read, forget abt doing smthng for the group.
@Smitha n all, will miss u a lot guys, but situation demands i plug out of the virtual world and spend smetime with the real world. Anyways good luck to all of u, wish to be back soon, if not sooner.

Come back soon.. And all the best for your new responsibilities :)

@Scrabby: A Warm Welcome.. As Vinoth suggested, ready to treat us when we meet up next.. :)
@Adi, I dont know who helped you in deleting yourself from moderator list. Did you manage it by yourself. I was surely planning not to help you out on that account :(

While I am a newbie here, I will still say: Adi, thanks so much. Welcome Sherin and happy moderating.

Even me.. I am still wondering how did he manage to do it.. I dont want to try though.. :P

He is here as a member and we do get inputs from him reg. matters even now. Maybe in another couple of years or so, he will be reincarnated as a mod.

He has taken a sabbatical.. He will be back.. :)
Dear IR members
I accepted moderatorship of this group in 2010 and its been a decade now. Aditya was the first co moderator with me, who soon gave up his position as he became busy in his private life. Then came Anbu, Mansi, Hazel, Sherin...
Later on Shoa and Manju....
Past few months ( or almost a year) I have been very lax in my commitment to the group as I was embroiled in personal and professional activities. The subsequent moderators who came in to share the work too unfortunately find themselves very busy.
When one of the members enquired about Secret Santa, I felt very guilty and decided to take things in hand.
So here come ... Fresh mod blood to the group..... perhaps one, hopefully two. I am just waiting for them to agree to the work ahead.
I will be haunting this space, mostly inactive with occasional spurts of activity (like today), and hopefully we will again rediscover the lively Indian Readers of the late 2000s and early tens...
Hope you all will cooperate in making this a fun place to be, Not only in word association game and Toy with a letter game, but in reading and discussing books, ( I dont mean self book promos here)
wish you all a happy diwali and a good day ahead.

Smitha,
This group has always been a motivator for picking books whether through BOTM, PIFM and other beautiful challenges. I've read books that I never could have picked otherwise & all thanks to mods such as yourselves who've made it possible for us.
Even the last years Secret Santa was well managed and successfully executed by a group of mods which made the book exchange flawless and much desirable.
I'd like to convey my thanks to you and all the other mods who've been spending time to keep this group alive.
It's quite unfortunate that we've been experiencing quite less traffic and I think people will surely bounce back soon and hoping for the same. Also, hoping that people contribute as much as they can to keep the conversation flowing and the group alive.
Thank you, again :D

Till then Doc should continue 👀 P
Hope so. Though never heard of it before .
But then I got two live blood and flesh mods ( or I assume they are, haven't met in person... They very well can be Bots too )
Welcome Girish and Gorab who agreed to help us out (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)(✷‿✷)

I didn't receive a notification for the new messages in this discussion!
Congratulations to the new mods and lets hope they won't disappear like the other ones :D
And I agree with Makrand: thanks to all the mods of these years that kept the group alive! I wish I would have more time to be as active as in the past and maybe take part in some group read, but life has been very busy in these last months/couple of years.
Thank you folks. Not sure what new or better can be done in terms of moderating the group. The mods so far have been exceptional... esp the perseverance by Smi. I will start by following their footsteps and helping in doing the regular chores :)
Thank you all once again :)
Thank you all once again :)
Thank you doc! Just discovered the thread after being made a mod (nothing to panic, yet! :P)
The group has been an inspiration to me over the years thanks to the fantastic bookworms who make the group. Hope we can do our bit by building on what has been achieved so far. In the words of Newton (who plagiarised it) : "If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of Giants."
Thank you all for the good wishes :)

I fondly remember all the fun we had over the years. A special shout out to Col., Hazel, Mansee, Anbu, Sherin, Harsha, Shoa, Dely, Carol, Axy, Meenakshi, Cincinattusc, Kunal, LitBug, Claussius, Parikhit and many more such members from all over the world who lit up this place!!!
Madi... welcome back . Do be active once again . Miss your presence here . Our association here is now more than a decade old (☆▽☆)
a bitter n' sweet news.
Adi, my first friend in this group, who was the person responsible for reviving the group which was in its death throes, one who prodded us on to newer heights, has resigned as a moderator. He tried his best to cope with the moderator duties, but work and personal pressure made him decide leave. We wouldnot have let him go, but somehow he has managed to delete him out as a moderator.
Good news is that to share our burden/joy, one of our oldest and very active members has graciously agreed to step into moderator boots...
