(Just check it every once in a while. It's likely that I've posted. She's my only charrie and I have nothing else to do :P)Cassie decided to ask the question that was really on her mind, even though she kind of already knew the answer. "So why did you stay with me? I barely know you." Her face remained open. She didn't want him to take it the wrong way.
Jet's eyes widened a bit, before they returned to their stern state. "...You reminded me of my sister... I know I would never leave her crying, so I figured why leave you while I could get some decent sleep?"
She nodded. He was as protective of Alison as she was of Sybil, even though they weren't twins. She softened a bit, forgetting why she was here for a minute. Then there was a feeling of rashness, maybe even stupidity, that propelled her forward the extra inches and put her mouth on his.
Jet was shocked at the sudden kiss, but then he let his features relax as he slowly began to kiss her back, his grip on her tightening ever so slightly. He deserved this, he thought. After saving his sister from being killed by that woman, and protecting her over his own needs to be a teen, he deserved this joy, this pleasure.
Cassie was floored when he kissed her back. She'd kissed other guys before, but this was different. When he closed his hold on her stronger, she wrapped her arms around his neck, languishing in the feel of his lips on hers. There was something about Jet.
Jet's heart went crazy when she locked her arms around his neck. Without thinking, he slipped his tongue into her mouth, drinking her in, and loving every bit of it.
She was surprised when his tongue found its way into her mouth. Surprised, then pleased. She broke off for air, then went right back to kissing him.
Slowly, ever so slowly, Jet's mind began to clear as he heard scratching on the other side of the door. Litch wined for them to let him in. He needed to recharge.
Jet broke away reluctantly, looking to the door, a bit of blush in his embarrassed cheeks. "I, uh," he cleared his throat, "think somethings at the door...?"
Her head turned towards the door. What the fu…stupid dog, she thought. "Goddamn dog. It's not mine. It's my roommate's," she muttered, trying to straighten her bed head with her fingers while getting up and opening the door.
Jet watched her, leaning his head back against the wall. He never realized how pretty she was...Litch raced in the moment she opened the door, excited to be refueled.
She had no idea what the robotic dog wanted, so she went back Jet, sitting next to him. Every nerve in her body was sending off sparks. She felt like she had been struck by lightning, which was ironic...
When Cassie sat next to him, Jet could feel the electricity coursing through hi body at her close contact, itching for him to close the distance.But when Litch jumped ontop of him, itching for that lightening, Jet frowned, but laughed at the joke.
Cassie felt that slight bit of panic rise in her. She didn't know what the dog wanted, but Jet clearly did, which meant it wanted lightning. She schooled her features, laughing at the dog. "Guess he likes you."
"...He isn't the one I want to like me..." he mumbled to himself, but he got up and electrocuted the annoying dog, which seemed to energize it in return.Once Litch was happily energized, he darted back towards his master.
Cassie heard what he said and smiled. "He's not the only one who does," she said, looking at him. At first, his purple eyes unnerved her, but now they seemed just right on him.
Jet raised an eyebrow at her, smirking, trying desperately to ignore the harsh pumping of his heart.
"Yeah, I mean I guess I like you," she said, a grin tugging up the corners of her mouth.
"...Guess?" he tried to act like he was hurt by her words, "Ouch."
"Oh don't be offended, maybe it's more than a guess. Maybe," she said, teasing him.
Jet laughed, "Well this 'guess' is going down to get some breakfast. Would you care to join me?" He began to head for the door.
"Yeah give me a sec," she replied, throwing a tank over her cami, and following him out into the hallway. "Where are we going?"
"To the kitchen," he replied a bit sleepily, the adrenaline leaving him. "I'm making some waffles from scratch...at least the best Alison taught me.."
"Oh that's ambitious. Is your sister a good cook?" Cassie asked.
Jet tensed a bit, though he had no idea why. "...Yeah, she's phenomenal." Once there, he began getting the ingredients, "Could you get the milk for me, please?"
Cassie looked in the fridge for the milk, grabbing it from the shelf and putting it on the counter. She saw the tension in Jet's shoulders. Questions about his sister seemed to do that to him. Cassie filed that away for future use. "Well at least someone here knows how to cook. The extent of my abilities is putting cereal into a bowl. Even pouring milk in is too much for me," she joked.
Jet raised an eyebrow, relaxing a bit as he poured the batter into the waffle iron Alison gave him. "Well, I wouldn't be too upset about that. I can only make a certain amount of dishes well. This one's....my best," he laughed.
Cassie smiled, "The only time I tried to do serious cooking was when I was making pancakes. But I forgot the eggs. Needless to say, they weren't delicious or even edible. The second time around didn't go too well either. I'm not exactly a pastry chef." She thought back on the years of cereal and soup that she ate while she was on her own. She breathed in the waffle scent. "If it smells as good as it tastes…"
"Remind me never to let you enter a kitchen without me...or someone who can cook," he joked, checking the waffles. "Can you get the plates? They're almost done." He had added some cinnamon to the batter when she wasn't looking. He hoped she liked it.
After some searching in the cabinets, she found the plates, lifting a couple out. They were all blown glass. "Fancy," she remarked. She placed the plates on the counter and moved to stand beside Jet and the waffle maker. "Cinnamon?" she asked, smelling it and seeing the small line he dropped while adding it to the batter. "I love it, how'd you know?"
"...Just...that's how I always liked it..." Jet looked at her, trying to figure her out. Then turned his attention back to the waffles, taking them out and plating them.
Cassie went back to the fridge, peering in. "Do you put butter and syrup on yours?" she inquired.
"Yeah," he answered, "Do you like powdered sugar? I'm still learning the technique but it's still good. We mix it with cinnamon, whether the waffles already have it or not." He smiled, thinking of his sister once again. She would always put the cinnamon in, even when that woman hated it...
"Sounds good!" she said as she grabbed butter and syrup. She also got a basket of fresh strawberries out of the fridge, rinsing them in the sink and popping on in her mouth. "Strawberry?" she asked, offering one to him.
"Nah," he smiled, "I'm allergic."
"Allergic to strawberries? That's one I haven't heard. I'm allergic to green veggies, with the exception of lettuce," she said. She hated broccoli, peas, cucumbers, etc.
Jet laughed, plating the waffles and putting on the powdered sugar like alison had taught him. "Well that's a diddo for me. I haven't heard of someone allergic to the color green."
"Green veggies are just…weird," she exaggerated shivering then added, "The last time I ate spinach was a nightmare. Asparagus is even worse."
Jet rolled his eyes, smiling.
Cassie took one of the waffles with cinnamon and sugar and, using her fork, bit into it. It was heavenly. "Holy crap…I thought your sister was the cook?"
"...She is. Her grilled cheese is the best in the world...!" he smiled down at the plate before he took a bite of the waffle. "I do have to say that I come a close second," he smiled at Cassie.
"Second best cook, third best kisser," she said, taunting him.
Jet tensed a bit, while his heartbeat began to race. His blood boiled something delicious as he remembered the encounter. While he gazed into her eyes he barely even knew that he was blushing, hard.
He didn't respond, but the silence didn't perturb Cassie. She saw the blush creep up his cheeks and spread down his neck. She leaned closer. "You could be a little higher than third actually," she flirted.
Closing his eyes, Jet took a deep breath, then cleared his throat. "Sorry. That was my own fault and I apologize for it now." He turned to wash the dishes since he was finished with his breakfast.
Hot and cold, Cassie thought. "Why are you apologizing?"
"Because... Well..." Wait, jet thought. Why was apologizing? He deserved some pleasure, didn't he? After all the protecting he's done?"Agh!" he shook his head. "My body and mind's not use to having such pleasure like that," he smirked.
And there were the words that were supposed to be a secret; out in the open.
"Everyone deserves a little enjoyment! Nothing you did warrants an apology," Cassie said, scrutinizing him. "After all that I'm sure you've done for others, you should give in to a little…pleasure."
Jet's lips slipped into a smile, a bit seductive, not that he was paying attention. Again he thought of how beautiful her eyes were....as well as how amazing she was...
His gaze lit every nerve in her body on fire, electricity jolting back and forth. She could feel his eyes on her and it made her emotions run high. In her moment of weakness, the napkin holder and pepper shaker flew off the kitchen table. As soon as she heard them clatter to the floor, she cursed her stupidity. She feigned surprise, "What made them move?"
