Hey guys, stumbled across this site/group while looking for a few suggestions on what to read next, and thought I'd open up my own thread to fine tune the results!
I'm looking for an action packed fantasy book along the lines of Kingkiller Chronicles (Name of the Wind, The Wise Man's Fear) in terms of overall readability and enjoyment.
To narrow down what exactly I'm looking for, I mention this series because certain aspects in it greatly appeal to me.
I'm a big fan of taking the story from 'pre-awakening' as I like to call it, where the protagonist has nothing, or little in the ways of ability or talents besides the raw source and then following the trials and training that precede greatness (many call it zero to hero but I don't like to have it be as generic as that) and I also mention it because I'm a *huge* fan of the Lethani arc in Wise Man's Fear with the Adem mercenaries and their hand to hand fighting styles.
While I'm not 100% against magic (at all!) or sword play (by any means!) if there are any books that fit the above mentioned criteria, please let me know so that I may devour them!
Obviously any read that can be compared with these books in the series will be a good read, and will gladly accept all recommendations!
Thank you so much and I look forward to having discussions on this forum :)
