Synopsis:On the outside, Sophia Simmons is an ordinary girl, but on the inside, she's anything but. Sophie has always been drawn to the owls that roost in the dark forest behind her home. While the other teens in the neighborhood find them eerie and unsettling, probably due to the ancient folk talkes that the neighborhood elders have passed down for generations, Sophie finds solace in their sounds late at night when she can't sleep. As her eighteenth birthday draws nearer, the strange feeling that their calls are for her alone becomes harder to suppress.
Late one night, on the eave of her birthday, Sophie can fight it no longer. She relents to the pull of their calls and heads deep into Fallen Forest in search for answers. But what she finds only raises more questions about her relationship to the owls and completely changes everything she's ever known about who she is and where she comes from.
Now, Sophie finds herself a part of a world where the ancient legends are true, and she alone can save her new family from an enemy unlike anything she's ever encountered or even dared to think existed. Sophie's entire world has SHIFTED.
