Introduce yourself
Hi, I'm Teddie. I love this group's fun ways of tackling the ever-growing TBR pile, and I can't wait to join in the next round of Bookopoly :)

Welcome, Teddie!
There's no reason you can't start Bookopoly right now if you're interested. A number of us choose not to purchase properties anyway, and that ability is about the only thing you lose by not starting at the beginning. Create a Bookopoly shelf for yourself, and jump right in.
And for your TBR pile, check out Lost and Moving Mountains.

Hi everyone. I was part of this group a couple years back but due to personal issues my reading slowed down and I just wasn't in the right head space. I am hoping the tide has turned and being friends with Lusie I see some of the things this group is up to and I would very much like to be part of it ;-) So, here I am!
Looking forward to making friends, book recommendations, participation and lots of reading!

Welcome, Teddie and Anna! This is a great group of people and games. Jump right in. Ask questions if you need help. Very friendly group.
Welcome, Kate!
I'm the same... Hubby's been telling me that my books are fire hazard because they're all over the place :/
I keep saying that I'm going to focus all my reading on my owned tbr for years & it doesn't seem to at all go down... in facts, it has doubled oops! That's definitely on my NY resolution (AGAIN!) ha ha ha

Welcome Kate! Funnily enough, I had a bit of a "discussion" with my hubby this morning about all the books I have!
Like you, I want to tackle books on my physical TBR and I am sure this group will help a lot, although I think we need to be prepared for all the new books we will add ;-)

Hi, My name is Caroline and I live in Mumbai, India. I am a preschool Teacher by profession. I always loved reading but have discovered a passion for it a year ago. My favourite Author being Nicholas Sparks and my favourite book being “The Notebook” which is you guess it right written by Nicholas Sparks himself. But don’t get me wrong I am also open to all kinds of genres as long as it keeps me hooked on.A very big Hi to all in this groups. Looking forward to have a great time here.
Hi, I am Rona and I am from the South East of Ireland. I love reading and I hope to expand my reading habits and read more this year. Look forward to participating in the challenges. :-)

Hi, I'm Ebony! I've been a member of this group for years, but my reading has been almost nil lately, something I want to change as I love reading and I love the sense of community gained from discussing shared experiences of reading books. So I am back.. hi!
Hi, I'm Saylor! I just joined the group because I love the idea of all the challenges and monthly shelves to read a lot of my (hoarded) books, and definitely explore new genres.
Hi. My name is Rachel. I joined this group a few days ago but I think I forgot to introduce myslef. I apologize. I joined this mostly because the bokopoly game looked like a lot of fun. I have over 100 books on my Want to Read shelf and I know I will be adding more, mostly as I find new books for my Around the World group. My favorite genres are historical fiction, memoirs, dystopian, new adult, fact based fiction (e.g. Dan Brown). and fantasy. While I haven't read much if any adult folktales, myths, and legends or adult fairytales, I would like to explore these genres as well. If you would like to learn more about me please visit my profile page.
I'm excited to join this group.
P.S. I need help getting started with bookopoly. Please see the Bookopoly-Travel Edition>Bookopoly 2020 for more details. Thanks.
Thanks Lusie and Bea. I'm glad to be here. It seems like a great group. I was even asked already if I wanted to do a buddy read after landing in jail on my first roll. I definetly think that I will enjoy it.
In jail already? lol Sounds like me with last year's bookopoly. I was in jail so many times! I'm glad you like the group so far!

I know right! Although it is around 650 pages so it's not horrible. Some of the Harry Potter books I read in middle school were longer so it should be no problem for me as a college student. Thanks for the message!
Lusie wrote: "Welcome to the group, Rachel. I'm Lusie. Bookopoly is a lot of fun. I hope you will enjoy it too!"
Welcome, Rachel! I don't play Bookopoly, but do enjoy this group. I hope you get out of Jail soon and get to read something :)

Hi, I'm Erin. I'm 35, I have 4 kids ranging in age from 3 to 13, and I LOVE audiobooks. They get me through the day! However, I'm going to try to get back into reading more physical and/or e-books. I love the pick-a-shelf theme here and am looking forward to checking out the challenges =)
Welcome, Erin. As you can see, this is a friendly group. Jump in wherever you like. Next year's challenges will be posting in about a month.
My name is Martha. I'm retired and have spent the last six years or so discovering book challenges and reading a lot. I joined this group several years ago but I've concentrated my time in two or three groups and feel the need to expand. I was drawn in by the monthly shelf reads and the December Science shelf felt like the best opportunity to start participating here. I read historical fiction, literary fiction, contemporary fiction, historical mysteries, mysteries, science fiction and fantasy, and nonfiction about science and history. I look forward to participating here in 2021.
Hey Martha, I love reading challenges too! And we do have a few in this group so please jump in, if it's something you like :)
Bookopoly's new edition for 2020-2021 is about to start (Dec 1) but the rest of 2021 challenges will be announced in the next couple of weeks so look out for those :)

Hello everyone! My name is Becky. In the past, I have mainly used Goodreads for recommends, but I recently discovered all the social pieces to Goodreads and I would like to be more social. I read fiction or magazines before bed, but I listen to audiobooks pretty much constantly (I hope audiobooks count here). I enjoy all genres, but tend to gravitate toward fantasy, urban fantasy, science and medical history, mysteries, and romance. Although, fashion history is starting to sneak into my reading list quite a bit too, which rather surprised me. I thought this group may bring more happy surprises and I get a chance to chat with some interesting folks. I look forward to participating in the group.
Hi Becky, welcome to the group :)
Jump in wherever you want to, quite a few of us are fantasy readers and for December, we are reading 'science' so you've joined it at just the right time to help guide us as most of us aren't really big science readers.

Welcome, Becky. My top genres are fantasy, mysteries, and paranormal most of the time. However, I will delve into any book that interests me. We are just starting to plan for next year, and Bookopoly has already begun. Just jump in when you see something that interests you.

Welcome, Sandra! Many of our games and challenges focus on the TBR. Although we are always trying to reduce it, many of us have found ours growing. :)
