Welcome to our group, Anthony and Tiffany. Most of our challenges are year long, so jump right in.

With NF, you just have to find the subjects that really interest you and then (this is the hard part) find the authors (& similar authors) whose writings appeal to you. Took me some time to find them ;)
CluckingBell is also right, audiobooks do help sometimes though at other times, it helps me sleep ha ha ha ha

Hi, My name is Lisa. And my challenge is to read more instead of watching TV. I feel that the brain needs that food of a book, like my stomach wants food. I hope being involved with people who love to read will challenge me and allow me to learn new things in the world, about myself and pursue things that have been waiting for me to pursue. Nice meeting all who meet me or come across my page. Thanks for the new friendships in 2018.
Hey Lisa! Welcome to GR (I see you've only just joined) & to the group. I hope we'll be able to challenge each other & learn lots of new things together :)
Not sure where to post this question, but since I know I'm not the only new person, thought this was a place to start. I was wondering how the challenges work if you are new to group. I had been goodreads member, but deleted my account and then changed my mind and rejoined. So my TBR list is fairly empty until I get my books added, which will all have this years date on them. I do have a paper list, but of course they don't have dates
Robin, we aren't too fussed with dates when it comes to LOST or Moving Mountains; we don't check them at all. Dust off whichever books that you think fit and that'll do.
With Bookopoly, we do need you to create a specific bookopoly shelf and to have at least 30 books on that shelf. This is due to the way the challenge is played that actually requires another participant to pick books for you so you'll need a list for someone to look at :)
There aren't any date requirements or books on GR shelves required for Wheel of Books, if you're interested in that challenge.

Hi everyone my name is Jacob. For me, I personally think that reading is sort of boring, so the purpose of joining this group is to get myself more into reading & know more fun books.

Hi Everyone,My name is Melissa, and I love to read! I also write, and have 2 published books. In addition, I work as a Virtual Author's Assistant.
If you love reading and are you interested in being a Reader Reviewer for manuscripts, please send an email to mmshaffer0425@aol.com, with Reader Review in the subject line. Include your name, address, email and phone. The address is so we will know where to send the autographed copy, and the phone is just in case the author has any follow-up questions for you. You should be open to any genre. It isn't paid, but you will be acknowledged in the published book, and will receive an autographed copy.
I totally geek out when I see my name in the final product, I hope you will too!
Heyy my name is Shalini and i really love to read YA, mystery and thriller. This group seems really fun, can't wait to get started.PS: For book reviews and other book realted topics check out my blog https://bookishbennett.blogspot.in/
Hi, I'm Cindy - out here in 'fly-over country'. Avid reader, looking forward to joining in the discussions and challenges.
Wow! We have a lot of new readers coming!!! Welcome, Cindy, Shalini, Melissa, Ravi, Jacob, and Lisa! Jump right in.
Most of our challenges are annual ones, but a few last a shorter amount of time. And then there are always new ones springing from Tien's creative brain.
This is a friendly group, and questions usually get answered quickly around here.

Hi, everyone! I'm Cathlyn - you can call me Catt. Adventure/Fantasy is my favorite genre, but I want to try dipping into new waters. I love my YA but I think I'm slowly transitioning to Adult Fiction? We'll see how that goes!!I've been on goodreads for a while but I've never joined a community before so I'm super excited! I like to read and am always encouraged by my other bookworm friends IRL, so hopefully we can be friends too! :)
Welcome, Catt! This is a very friendly group. Just look around and jump in when you see something interesting. Most of our challenges are aimed at reducing the TBR (none of them work well, since most of us add books others are reading about as quickly as we take them off...but it is fun to dream) or reading from a variety of shelves (some challenge us to move out of our reading rut genres).

Hi! I'm Mary. This is my first group. I spend a lot of time trying to decide what to read next and I thought this group would help me mix it up a little. I go back and forth between fiction and non-fiction. I stay in my comfort zones but would really like to read from all areas now. I've never read sci/fi and don't think that I would like it. I hope to change that idea with your help and reccomendations. I have always loved reading and have decided to make time for it daily. Nice to be here! Happy Reading!

Mary, I rarely read any science fiction until I was well into my fifties, and it's now a favorite genre of mine.
The Time Traveler's Wife might be a gentle way to dip your toes in the waters. It's not "hard" scifi, but -- as the title makes clear -- about a man who appears to travel through time. And it's a great book.

Hello Everybody,
My name's Jasmin and I'm twenty-nine years old ENFJ of Slovenian nationality who just really loves to read the kind of books, the kind of articles, and the kind of novels that can really change a person's reflection and outlook on life. So I can't wait to expand my horizons, get out of my comfort zone, and see what else is there to learn and share with the people from all over the world. :)

Hi, I'm Kim from southern Indiana. I'm trying to get rid of the TBR list on my Kindle which is WAY longer than the one on goodreads. You're group sounded like a way out of my comfort zone and motivation to help me knock out that list.
Hi, I'm Chéri from Cape Town, South Africa. I'm 20 years old and I am currently a medical student. I'm trying to get back into reading more as the last 2 years have been such a whirlwind, I feel like I've slipped up in the reading department and I haven't really tackled anything note-worthy. I'm hoping this group can get me back into the swing of things.Glad to be here!
