Introduce yourself
Hi all. My name is Mickey, and I just discovered this group. I love all the challenges, but I really like how this group doesn't just encourage its members to read more, but you also encourage us to discuss what we've read. I love how several of the challenges require you to not only list the books you've read but also to come back and review them and talk about what you got out of them. I will be taking part in all the challenges I think except for Bookopoly since it's already been going for over a month, and I think the other 3 plus the Book Riot Read Harder Challenge I'm doing this year should be enough. I'm looking forward to participating and chatting with everyone.
Hi Mickey! Welcome to the group and great to hear that you'll be taking up most of the challenges :)
You are also more than welcome to join in Bookopoly... all properties have been sold but you can still participate; there are quite a few of us without properties (less pressure lol).
What's "Book Riot Read Harder Challenge"? I love hearing about other challenges too -am totally obssessed ;p

Book Riot is this great website about books and they have a yearly challenge called the Read Harder Challenge where they provide various different challenges to get readers to step outside their comfort zones and try genres and authors that they maybe wouldn't have tried otherwise. I did it last year and it was a lot of fun.
I'm also obsessed with reading challenges. December and January are my favorite months because I love making the plans for the next year.
ah I see... like Popsugar too except if you finish & send them a pic, you get 30% discount which is pretty cool.
I love planning my reads all year round ha ha ha which is why certain challenges like Scattershelves, we announce letters monthly - the suspense in waiting, the fun in re-organising your shelf etc *grins maniacally*

Hi, Marie. Welcome to the group. Would you believe that I have never read Little Women?
Welcome Mickey. I have done Book Riot for the past few years, but I decided to skip it this year. I also did the Panels challenge (sister site to Book Riot and focused on graphic novels). BTW, Bookopoly is a year-long challenge and individual based for reading...so anyone can jump in at any time.

Hi, my name is Maia. I came across this group and decided to give it a try :) I don't have a lot of time for reading lately but I hope this will motivate me to read a little more this year. Last book I finished was The Fever Tree by Jennifer McVeigh, by the way. I really loved it, it totally carried me away from the beginning to the end.

Welcome, Maia! Reading definitely needs time... I do feel in a way that I'm blessed with 2-hours daily commute that I can read in :p
I've never heard of The Fever Tree but I looked it up and it sounds really interesting. I hope you find lots more captivating reads :)

Welcome Alyx. This is a great group with lots of fun challenges.
Hi, I'm Kristell I was looking for a group because most of them are abandoned or not many participate and found this one. It looks so fun, I already looked through things I want to be a part of, so I'm here to give it a try.
Hiya, My name's Chathu. Goes without saying I love books. Read the description of this group and it caught my attention. I read a wide variety of books (or so I like to think) but I am always aiming to expand my genres. So happy to be here.
Thanks
Chathu
Hey,This looks like fun group with a focused but not overly restrictive goal. I'm hoping that I can stay on task and remember to be active.
My name is Becky and my hobbies include jigsaw puzzles, video games, board games and reading. I'm happily married and a proud mother of my two loving cats.

Welcome aboard! We have a variety of challenges which are aimed at reducing our TBRs or exploring shelves.
Of the current challenges, Bookopoly, Moving Mountains, LOST and Scattegories are year-long challenges, although Scattegories has a monthly basis to it. Twist is available until the end of May, so there is quite a bit of time left to get into that one. And then there is our monthly shelf read.
I hope you find a few that strike your fancy.

Thanks for the intro Bea! I'm planning to start with the monthly shelf read and see how that goes. It has been a while since I've joined an online group so I'm hoping that I can make a habit of checking in. :-)
Hi guys!I'm Lauren, I live in Australia, and have loved reading anything and everything from age 3. I'm really keen to expand the genres I read beyond what I find comfortable, and hope to have some great conversations about everyone's favourite activity - reading!
Hi, Lauren! Welcome to the group! Look around and jump right on in. We are a friendly group with a wide variety of games and challenges aimed at reducing our TBRs.

Last year, I only read 36 books; now I'm already past 1/2 that amount and it's only mid-April! There's no way I would have done that if it wasn't for this lovely community of readers. Thank you, everyone, and I look forward to reading even more with you all!

That's great. I have also found new authors I liked (and new ones I didn't like this way. It's a good way to broaden our reading horizons.
Hello, my name is Sarah and I just recently joined Goodreads so I am really sure how to go about the Lost challenge. Finally I have found my love for reading again though!

Sarah, the LOST challenge is to list the 10 oldest books on your T0-BE-READ (TBR) list. It can be a list on Goodreads or one in your home. This is an annual challenge, so we try to read those 10 books in one year.
To join, just post the 10 books you intend to read before December 31.

Konnichiwa readers!I'm Ellie, a high schooler who is just getting out of a major 3 year reading slump. I love music (specifically electropop, hip hop, anything quirky) and anime (Hunter X Hunter fans hit me up!) and doing theater.
Hello! My name is Sara and I'm new to Good Reads. I joined because I love to read and discuss good books with other people. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of readers in my family or circle of friends. Someone recommended Good Reads to me and I've been enjoying getting to know the site.
This group looks like a lot of fun and I look forward to discussing books with all of you!
Hi I'm Avery, most call me mouse. I love to read just about anything. Often joke that if it's written somewhere I'll read it eventually! I' from Indiana, USA, 44, have 2 boys (cats) and enjoy trying new things. I look forward to sharing the books with all y'll!
Hi folks. I'm Amanda from Nashville. I am a musician, but I work at the library to pay the bills. I have a huge TBR pile and hopefully this group will motivate me to work through it. In my free time I enjoy crossword puzzles, baking and sitting in Nashville traffic. I look forward to reading with you.
Hi Amanda!! Nice to meet you. I am always looking for new friends to share books with so feel free to add me 🙂

My name is Marie and I'm Swedish but I live in Hastings, England. I've just committed to reading 48 books this year and pick a shelf will be a really exciting part of that. Recently I've had my head buried in research books mostly and I'm looking forward to trying new genres and books I've meant to read but never gotten around to. For my January bucket list one I've chosen Little Women as it's been sitting on my shelf for a few years now, just waiting for its turn.
