Getting Started - Chapters One - Eleven

Ok paranormal book fans,this looks like it's going to be a great story so let's get started! Don't be alarmed by the heading - the chapters are very short. Have you started the story yet? I think is very compelling so far. Thoughts?

I have always liked unusual narrators. I loved the beginning of King's Cujo where you get into the dog's point of view, and I equally enjoyed "The Lovely Bones" where we have a dead narrator. Having gotten through chapter 8 only, I'm hoping the book won't be derivitive. This problem with a genre when it gets this hot is that originality suffers. So I'm hoping it's not the case with this book.
