Leah | 8 comments Well, I"m almost done with the book and still unsure of how i feel about it. It took me awhile to properly get into it and I usually know by this point in the book whether I like it or not but this one confounds me. I do think it's pretty brilliant how the author connected Apasia and Mary but that's the only thing I"m really impressed with. I would like to read up on Mary to find out how much of this book is fact though, because it'd be fascinating to find out that most of it's true.

Sara W (sarawesq) | 2153 comments I thought the author did a good job connecting Apasia and Mary as well.

I understand what you mean about being unsure about how you feel about the book - I've been having that feeling about most of the books I've been reading lately for some reason. I don't know if it's the books, or the fact that I'm reading them on the Kindle, or what the deal is. I think I'm going to take time off from my other book club (ha ha, not this group - I love reading with this group!) and start reading some more Jean Plaidy or Sharon Kay Penman or some author that I love.

I would be interested in reading a non-fiction book about Mary and Elgin as well. I just found the following on Amazon which seems interesting:

Mistress of the Elgin Marbles: A Biography of Mary Nisbet, Countess of Elgin

Mistress of the Elgin Marbles: A Biography of Mary Nisbet, Countess of Elgin by Susan Nagel
