Alison Well I think its probably just a nice little 'filling in' book before the Iron Knight. I don't think there is any real significance between the 2. They just follow on from each other.

Nurlely I think Summer's Crossing is a good book to find out how good and bad the relationship between Ash and Puck before you read Iron Knight.

Nina From what I can tell, based on Ash's personality, he isn't the type who would burden her with yet another crazy mission to find a way to be permanently together. He's moreso the type to stoically put himself through hell to prove to HIMSELF that he deserves her at all and is worthy of being her knight. Remember earlier in the book when he mentions that the grandmother of the girl whom he basically let die of a broken heart, told him he would forever lose anyone he loved? Well, he took that to heart and still has to comes to terms with it, so chances are he'll be looking for ways to constantly prove himself worthy of having her alive and well, -and- his partner for quite a while until he's secure with himself and believes that curse to be broken. He just won't put her at risk again. Plus there's also the whole thing with having a vow released, for faeries, that's a BIG deal, and something to not be taken lightly. The same way that making a vow is not to be taken lightly, the dissolution of a vow is just as severe, and should be respected because it is the bearers wish. Her sacrificing her desire for him = he can't slap her in the face by disregarding her wishes.

At least that's what I take from the book, and I just read it. Plus I'm obsessed with faeries and kinda know most of their laws by heart (most novelists research faerie lore before starting their novels.).

Sorry if there are any typos. Using my fiance's laptop and the mousepad is a bit funny for me to use. It moves the cursor at times to somewhere else.

Bookrazy-Koi Iron knight is awesome!

you have to read winters passage (or rather you really should) before iron knight, because a character from it is in iron knight. summer's crossing before iron knight is not really necessary, though i read it anyway :)

Here, I think this is what you meant. I satrted to cry when I read this part.I hope that this helps!

"Ash,I love you.Never forget that. And I.... wanted to live the rest of my lige with you. But...I can't let you die because of me.

"I release you, from your vow of knighthood, and the promises you made. YOur service to me is done,Ash. You're free."
