Bands that everybody likes...or at least doesn't dislike
Was it Clark who said Motown? I think that's the way to go. I dare you to send me someone who can't get down with "Signed Sealed Delivered."
Sally doesn't like Glenn Miller or the Boston Pops.How can you dislike anything as all-American and wholesome as those bands?

"Peaceful Easy Feeling" makes me feel the exact opposite. "Angry Stabby Feeling" is more like it.

Going back to the topic theme here, I'm hard-pressed to find anyone who's ever had a bad word to say about the Clash, other than that abysmal Cut the Crap album (though "This is England" is a phenomenal song). I do think the Clash are universally loved or praised, at least well-liked.
Bob Marley, I suppose, is one who's universally liked. I think he's overrated and overplayed, but on occassion I do enjoy his songs.

See, I never minded "Cut the Crap" (Love "We Are the Clash" even though they're lying) as much as "Sandinista!" or "Combat Rock." Something about Allen Ginsberg on a Clash album reeks of, uh, just plain reeks.

I think the bottom line is that not everyone is a fan of rock, or pop, or country.That's why you have to hit 'em where they dance.
