(haha! my sis did that to my mom's ipod accidentally, she had 2 completely reset it. to do so, turn it on and hold down the center button and menu button until the screen goes blank. good luck! hope this helps!)

according to apple support, to reset a touchscreen nano:

Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button for at least eight seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
